Stewart's Family Farm

Stewart's Family Farm Know your farmer, love your food. Stewart's Family Farm is a farm store located in Howard, NY. In the summer we also serve ice cream on Friday.

We have a creamery and make ice cream and cheese with milk from our goats and bottle milk from our cows. We also make maple syrup, bakery items, raise beef, lamb, and goat, and grow a limited amount of veggies. We sell all of our products in our store, as well as at area Farmer's Markets. To supplement the things we raise and make ourselves, we also carry products from other local farms such as ho

ney, cheese, jams and jellies, and butter. At the end of 2020 we also began carrying bulk food items: flours, sugars, herbs, and spices. We have soft serve ice cream each Saturday year round, with different flavors each week. All ice cream is made with milk from our goats, using local ingredients when possible.

We'll be running low on milk this week. Due to an 11 hour power outage, we need to dump all the milk that was in our glass front fridge. This will affect the goat milk the most, as nearly all of it was in that fridge. We had cows milk stored in a solid front fridge that's still good. Goat milk will be restocked on Monday.

I don't know if the chevre I make this week will taste like apples, but they have been a big part of the goats' diet recently!

Fresh pasture for the beef steers and their three dairy friends. We started out the summer with 12 dairy heifers sharing pasture with the steers. Then, one night nine of them decided to escape and walk a mile back home! So they had to spend the summer in the heifer barn eating hay while these three who behaved themselves have had fresh green grass.
