Mountain Mama Pies

Mountain Mama Pies I’m back in action! Enjoy my homemade pies with a traditional, family crust recipe! Picked by Mountain Mama herself and family. Baked and packaged with care.

With a little help from Mother Nature, I try to stick with seasonal fruit right from the patch, grove, and orchard. We frequent Silver Queen Farm and Indian Creek Farm in Trumansburg, along with Reisinger’s Apples and Moore in Watkins Glen! What I can't pick myself I try to purchase from locally owned farm stores. Offering regular 9 inch pies and small muffin sized pies called, "Mountain Babies". It can’t just taste great, it has to look adorable too!

Okay! I'm baaaacck. The weather is teasing us with some chilly nights...first signs of fall slowly unfolding. Time for wool sweaters, cinnamon, hot tea and honey, cider and whiskey, soup and homemade bread. Sounds like the perfect time for some apple, grape, or pumpkin pie...would sure taste good sitting by the crackling fire, watching the autumn leaves drop one by one sprinkling the ground in colorful collage.

I wanted to throw it out there that now is the time for ordering for your holiday events. As most of you know, there is only one of me (unless I can steal my mom for a weekend) so I can't guarantee that I will be able to get a ton of orders done for the same day, such as Thanksgiving or Christmas. So, first come first serve, and then unfortunately I'll have to cut it off. Hope to hear from you!

My, my, my...I see that I haven't updated in quite a long time. I've been very busy with the end of the market season and I'm happy to say that it was a very successful one. The people in Charles Town are so wonderful and it was such a pleasure to get to know you more and more every Saturday. Thank you for all of your support and kind words.

CHARLES TOWN - The Charles Town Farmers Market went to the dogs on Saturday, and organizers say they hope to repeat the experience next summer.

I will soon be at the market every other week instead of every week. The "Mama" in Mountain Mama needs a little more time in the day and night! Hey, babies are the boss aren't they?

This coming weekend (8/4) I'll have a perfect, mid-season Peach Pie, and a sweet, late season Red Raspberry Pie. Stock up, I won't be back until 8/14!!!

After a long two weeks, I am back in action! Peach, Blueberry, and Cherry pies available this week at market. I must mention that the blueberries EXCEPTIONAL for some reason :) Also, Great Danish's for your pooch at Dog Day! And they are free :)
