Cuff Farms

Cuff Farms Cuff Farms is a five generation family produce farm offering strawberries, pumpkins, and asparagus. The farm is owned and operated by George, Jr.
(696)

Cuff Farms is family owned and operated by the Cuff Family in Hortonville, Wisconsin, selling asparagus, strawberries, pumpkins, pasture-raised pork and poultry, homemade goods, and tons of family fun. (Sandy) Cuff, his wife Lois, and their daughter Maggie. The farm covers 249 acres but only 200 acres of this land is tillable. Besides growing a rotation of winter wheat, rye, oats, and soy beans,

we also grow 1 acre of asparagus, 35 acres of strawberries, and 15 acres of pumpkins and fall items every year in a field rotation. Strawberries have been part of this farm's history since the early 1960's. Sandy's brother Jim and his father, George Sr., began by building an acre pond fed by a natural spring and a well. Back then they planted a few acres of strawberries by hand, and each year the business has steadily grown larger to where it is today. Strawberries seem to like the sandy soil here on Ledgehill Road. The sand in the soil helps maintain good water drainage. Strawberries will not tolerate "wet feet". They require full sunlight and plenty of water to do their best. Our farm has plenty! The pumpkin fields are planted in spring and cultivated along with the strawberries until they are ready to be harvested during the month of October. Over 5000 school children will visit the fields in October on their pumpkin pickin' field trips! Have you noticed our bee hives? To assure a high level of pollination for our strawberry plant blossoms and our pumpkin plant blossoms, we have 80 bee hives placed on our land during the growing season. The honey that comes from these bee hives is processed at Knox farms and sold in the shed during pumpkin season! We also sell jams, preserves, and maple syrup all grown and harvested locally.

We're going for it—Pizza Night is ON this Friday!

Yes, there's rain in the forecast, but unless it turns into something more than rain, we're planning to fire up the oven. It's been an off year for pizza nights with weather and a few unexpected family events, and we're ready to make one happen!

We'll have indoor seating available in the barn, or you can always order your pizza to go. There are still plenty of reservation spots available, so we'd love to have you join us.

A couple of other farm updates:

Beginning this weekend through August 22, our farm store will be open Saturdays only from 9:00 AM–4:00 PM.

There will be no farm tour this Saturday because Alex (our tractor driver and tour guide) will be out of state for a wedding.

Farm tours will return on August 8, 15, and 22 at 10:30 AM. After that, we'll be turning all of our attention to getting ready for pumpkin season, which begins September 25.

We hope to see you Friday!

Last weekend looked a little different than expected, and we were sad to miss pizza night. This weekend, we’ll be back to our regular schedule!

The farm store will be open Friday and Saturday from 9 AM–4 PM. It's generally a little slow this time of year but I'll be out there working on a new farm mural so come visit and shop local!

This weekend you’ll find:

Fresh cinnamon rolls Friday and Saturday
Frozen sourdough bread Friday
Fresh sourdough bread Saturday

We’ll also have a farm tour on Saturday at 10:30 AM. The tour is a 30–45 minute tractor ride where you’ll visit our sheep, pigs, and chickens and learn more about our farm.

The tour is $5 per person, and that amount can be used as credit in the farm store.

Wood-fired pizza night is also back on Friday, July 31st and the reservations are open here: https://www.cuffarms.com/shop/p/65-pizza-night-2dgj5-zm2nb-sje6s-ys9s8

Update for Friday, July 17th and Saturday, the 18th.

We have a different schedule for this weekend and wanted to let you know.

Friday: Our farm store will be open from 9:00 AM–4:00 PM. We will not have fresh bread this week, but we will have frozen cinnamon rolls available.

Saturday: The farm will be closed due to a family funeral. This means the farm store, play area, and all farm activities will be closed, and we have also canceled Pizza Night.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding during this time.

We hope you had a wonderful Fourth of July weekend! We had a great time celebrating here on the farm with pizza night and some kid-friendly fireworks.

After taking last weekend off, our farm store is back open Friday and Saturday from 9 AM–4 PM.

This weekend you'll find:

Fresh sourdough bread
Cinnamon rolls
Strawberry and coffee slushies
Fresh peach jam
A restock of our grass-fed beef

We're also excited to open our little lavender patch for pick-your-own lavender.

Many years ago we planted lavender on the farm. A good portion didn't survive the winters, and the patch was eventually abandoned. This year I cleaned it up, and while it's small, it's producing more than we can use.

The lavender is just past peak bloom, but it's still beautiful for drying, bouquets, and crafts. During farm store hours you can pick 50 stems for $5 to take home.

Our farm play area will be open during store hours, and with the warm weather, we'll have the farm sprinklers running from 11 AM–3 PM. Bring a swimsuit and let the kids cool off while they play!

On Saturday only at 10:30 AM, we'll also be offering a 30–45 minute tractor ride farm tour. We'll visit the pigs, chickens, and sheep and share a little about life on the farm. The tour is $5 per person, and that $5 can be used as credit in our farm store afterward.

We hope to see you on the farm this weekend!

Pizza TONIGHT! July 3rd

Holiday hours:
Our farm store will be closed from 9-4 on Friday and Saturday and only open during pizza night this weekend from 4-8pm on Friday.

We’ve been watching the weather, and we’re going ahead with pizza night. There are still quite a few spots left!

We’ll have indoor seating available if a shower moves through. To-go orders are also an option, but right now it looks like we may stay dry.

Make a reservation here: https://www.cuffarms.com/shop/p/65-pizza-night-2dgj5-zm2nb-sje6s-th3xg
First, choose your time slot, then select how many pizzas you’d like. One pizza feeds 1–2 people.

We’ll also have ice cream and slushies. The farm play area will be open, and we’ll have sprinklers running for the kids—bring swimsuits. We’ll finish the night with a few small, kid-friendly fireworks.

Any questions? Email us at [email protected]

Our farm store will be closed from 9-4 on Friday and Saturday and only open during pizza night this weekend.

Closed for the strawberry season!

We truly appreciate everyone who came out and chose us. From the bonkers first days we were open to the rainout that closed our season, we don't take it for granted that you chose to bring your family to our farm and make memories here.

All in all, it was a great year considering the adversity the crop faced.

Next up, we're hoping for a pizza night this Friday, but we're watching the weather and will post an update soon.

Our farm store will be closed for the holiday weekend and will reopen next Friday.

We will be open Tuesday, June 30th, from 8–11 AM.

From here on out, we're taking it one day at a time—watching how many berries get picked and how they handle the heat. There's a chance we'll be open again on Wednesday, but Tuesday could be our final pick of the season.

Below is a photo of what was picked today. The berries are extra sweet! We are letting customers pick anywhere throughout our entire crop. There are still some good spots out there if you're willing to do a little searching.

We'll post another update Tuesday afternoon. Thank you for sticking with us through this strawberry season!

No pre-picked berries
$4.50/pound
We do not spray our berries
Strawberry and coffee slushies available
Play area open
