Chestnuts are high in carbs and protein and low in fat, dropping in September and October to give deer that energy they need for the rut. Perfect for food plots and/or sustainable food for consumption. Unlike oak trees that have off years of production, chestnuts produce the same amount yearly when mature, and can produce between 50-100 pounds of harvest per tree at maturity!!
