Little Bitterroot Ranch is a 4th-generation family-owned cattle operation located in the foothills of the Little Bitterroot Valley. The ranch is operated by Frank and Marilynn Carr, with their son Shannon being the fourth generation. The region is semiarid (9 inches annually). Cattle range on dry land pastures until midsummer when they are put on irrigated pastures. We run around 200 mother cows;

selling 40 bulls per year. We have recently shifted our approach in marketing our bulls after selling them in the Bulls of the Big Sky sale for seven years. It has been impressed on us that we would like a closer working relationship with our customers, for we have said many times, relationships are more important than the cattle sold. We miss the hands on feeding and managing of our bulls to ensure soundness, quality, and trouble free breeding stock. Therefore, we are excited to offer our cattle through private treaty here on the ranch. Visitors are always welcome to view our cattle on the ranch. Please feel free to set up a time for viewing and join us for a hot cup of coffee or a meal. If coming to the ranch does not work for you, please give us a call! Our website is not only active during Bull Sale time - feel free to see what we are up to throughout the year by reading our blog or try out one of our tasty beef recipes.

What a powerhouse with the numbers to match! We are truly excited about this bull!

LBR REDEMPTIVE, Lot 1 N306 is a Phenotypic Herd Sire Prospect which has risen to the top! He excels in calving ease, growth, maternal and carcass merit. He had a 79 # birth weight out of a first calf heifer. Took off growing, showing a 205-adj. WW of 780 # with a 1.07 index. He continued to impress, gaining 4.27 # per day for the 125 day test, indexing 1.10 yearling weight and 1452 # adj. YW. The bulls were worked up to 10 #/day of Lekelan Bull Developer so he sure hasn't been overfed. He measured a 5.8 frame. Very smooth, attractive, long, deep and wide on sound feet and legs with an ideal all black hair coat. He has 14 EPD's ranking 20% or better. We can honestly say we believe LBR Redemptive is a no hole powerhouese that has it all! After 53 years AI beeding to Simmental, LBR Redemptive is the best we have raised, and we will be using him in our AI program here at Little Bitterroot Ranch.
