Green Heart Farm is a mix of high-mountain gardens and orchards nestled along the Blue Ridge of Southern Appalachia near Max Patch Bald, in North Carolina. We cultivate a variety of fruits and vegetables using organic, permaculture, & biodynamic methods, and especially focus on heirloom apples, blueberries, asparagus, rhubarb, shiitake mushrooms, and christmas trees. Our produce, preserves, and cr
aft goods are available from April - November, and can be found at our road-side farm stand or at various markets, events, and restaurant venues around the Asheville, NC area. We also host eco-tourism events at our farm and offer lodging accommodations at nearby Green Heart Forest. Above all else, we strive to cultivate harmony as stewards of our land. Each year we learn more and more through our experience how to "cultivate our farm as organism", in the words and guidance of Rudolf Steiner. Because of our remote location and elevation there are a number of unique challenges we face, all of which are part of the fun of developing a more well-adapted sense of self and place and honoring the gifts we have been given.
