Does anyone else ever feel like when you hatch your own babies, 99.9% of them are boys?! 😂🐣

Like… excuse me, I specifically ordered fluffy little girls. 😭😂

Side note, I keep having straight combs’ pop-up in some of my babies, but none are physically on any of my adult birds. How far down the line do you dig and how do you investigate to see which one is producing the straight combs?

🐥💜 Hey everyone! It’s been a hot minute! 💜🐥

Life has been busy busy lately between work, family, sports, and just keeping up with everyday life! 😅 So I’ve been a little MIA around here.

But don’t worry… the Silkies are still being spoiled, loved, and keeping me busy too! 🐓💕

Well… it’s been a few days since I’ve popped on here! 🐔🤎

Between work, sports, kids, and just the craziness that comes with everyday life, sometimes the days get away from you! 😅

But don’t think for a second that things have slowed down around The Silkie Way! 🐣 We’ve still got plenty going on behind the scenes, and I have lots I want to share with you all.

Before we left for vacation, I had about 4 hens sitting on 35+ eggs! 🥚🐣 With us getting ready to leave, I decided to give away about half of the eggs, and Halee was one of the very first people I thought of! 🤍

She ended up taking 9 or 10 eggs, and this morning I woke up to THE BEST news… every single one hatched and they are all looking perfectly healthy! 🥹🐥

She has a few blue and black mottled babies, along with a few adorable naked neck chicks! 😍 I am SO happy and excited for her! She kept me updated throughout the entire hatch, and it makes my heart so happy seeing these little cuties doing so well. 🥰

There is just something so special about being able to share eggs and see someone else get to experience the excitement of a successful hatch! 💕 Congratulations, Halee, on all your sweet little babies! 🐣🤍

I can’t wait to watch these babies grow! I feel like I could say that this is one happy gal! 🥹✨

They are not currently paired with a cockerel/rooster, which makes this a pretty special opportunity. I rarely have hens or pullets available, and it’s even less common for me to offer them without a boy.

First day back to the real world.

First day back to work.
