Sharing this with a grateful heart.

Thank you to Bar Lazy J for the kind shout-out and for incorporating Mountain Grace Lavender Ranch into your weekly lavender cocktail specials. Seeing our lavender and enjoyed by your guests is truly special.

What makes it even more meaningful is the history behind it.

As a teenager, I spent many days riding my barrel horse, Chauncy, to Bar Lazy J. I worked as the head wrangler, and on weekends many of the Bar Lazy J guests would come to the Fraser and Granby rodeos. I can still remember hearing them cheer me on from the stands. Those are memories I’ll always treasure.in that same time, my mom worked at the ranch as well.

The original owners, Chuck and Phyllis Broady, and their children Jeff, Dick, and Chris were a big part of our lives. We grew up together, shared friendships, and created memories that have lasted decades.

So to see life come full circle all these years later—with new ownership at Bar Lazy J, a wonderful team, and Mountain Grace Lavender Ranch products finding their way back to the ranch in a completely different way—feels like a blessing.

Sometimes the connections we make in our younger years come back around when we least expect them. This one means more than I can put into words.

Thank you, Bar Lazy J, for the support, the partnership, and for keeping those Grand County connections alive. 💜

Then every plant needs pruned in about a week or so. Lavender is so much work. It’s really buds of gold!

A question I get often is -“When will the Lavender bloom?”
It’s a great question that I don’t always have an answer for.
This years guess is the third week in June and we will have blooms until the first freeze this fall. Lavender is a hardy plant needing little water but labor intensive. It’s beautiful, fragrant, delicious and unique! I’m ready!

Oh these hands,
They’ve done so much work,
Without gloves I’d be lost.
I’m thankful for gloves,
For the protection,
For the holes,
For the cool colors and patterns,
For cloth,
And leather,
Rubber too,
They make working better,
For without gloves,
Barbed wire would win,
And mulch and w**ds would stay put,
And Shelby wouldn’t get to buy a new pair,
Every season of the year!

Pulling the mulch back from the plants. Takes me about two hours for three rows of 48 plants each! Just 9 rows to go! Our growing season is a bit behind others in lower elevations, but we gaining new growth everyday! Finishing pulling back mulch then on to pruning and then w**d eatting the grass between the rows.
