As where Em was ā€˜over the moon’ about Friday, I feel like Bridgeport Farms Quill’s Quinn needs her own little post-show post as well for day II of the open show.

In the Junior devision Em and Quinn got 3rd place out of a big class of 11 in ring 1. Right behind the champion and reserve for the division.

And in ring 2 she got 2nd out of 9!! The judge kept going back and forth between her and another for 1st and 2nd, Quinn did get second but it was very close.

We were beyond proud of Em for going into a open show being the smallest one there and holding her own. And Em was beyond proud of her little Quinn.

I’ll have to share the full story one day but this is Em’s very special doe who picked her. (We were going to pick up another doeling for Em but this one literally snuggeled up in her lap and did not leave her side the whole visit, so the rest is history). They snuggle almost everyday and are the best of friends!!

I can’t wait to see these two in the future!! Thank you Karen at Bridgeport Farms Nigerian Dwarf Goats for such a very special doeling for Em.

Bridgeport Farms Quill’s Quinn and Flower Lion Farms Lemon Sorbet are Em’s 2 foundation does for her show herd. They both had an amazing first show with Em with the two best and patient judges we could have asked for.

I guess we are officially into this now!!

(Picture of her with a BIG smile on her face after getting placed 2nd in the class).

I’m still trying to think of the words I would use to describe today and Em’s experience at her first ADGA show.

I am so thankful to all the new friends we met and our wonderful judge, Justin Bassett, and the Uintah County Dairy Goat Show.

Em not only got champion in the peewee showmanship. But Em showed Flower Lion Farm Lemon Sorbet (Lulu) and earned her first dry leg, and Em’s first Champion Ribbon. Then they went on to win Best of Show.

At both their first show!

I can’t wait to see how this pair works together next year as Lulu freshens and I’m so blessed to be able to see Em work so hard over the whole summer and see it all come together. I know she is beyond proud of herself as well.

Thank you Flower Lion Farm for allowing us to give Lulu a home and Em such a great little partner. And thank you Bridgeport Farms Nigerian Dwarf Goats for allowing Quinn (who she won showmanship with) to also join our little farm.

Em has the best two little show goats she could have asked for starting out! And she loves them both so much!

All tucked in and ready to show tomorrow!!!

Next up, that we need to introduce, is … Flower Lion Farm Lemon Sorbet (aka Lulu).

I started following Flower Lion Farm a while ago and knew one day I wanted Em to have one of their goats in our herd. When I found out they had a gold yearling with blue eyes (Em’s favorite colors) we just had to scoop her up.

We feel so lucky to have LuLu on the farm and watching her and Em bond. Shes such a beautiful little yearling. I can’t wait to see how she matures and freshens next spring.

Not to mention she has some of my favorite lines on her paternal side. Creosote Ranch TM Lemonsqueezy *B (champion pending) out of CH Creosote Ranch Willow (VEEE 90) and Wolfvian Tahitian Monoi.

And of course her Dams line from CH Flower Lion Farm M Luna (VEEE90) out of SGCH Lost Prairie VL Heartbreaker (EEEE91).

I think Em and her will turn into such a great team. She’s very patient with her as she learns to walk her goats and sets them up. Something I think is invaluable for a kid.

Thank you so much Kimberlee for LuLu and allowing her to join Em’s herd. She will not be going to fair with Em this year but she will be going with her to the youth ADGA show in August!

One of the best things about having children, I believe, is being able to watch them discover new things as they grow.

You get to see something start out simple and small and then grown into a passion and love that you know will last a lifetime.

For Em that is goats 🐐 & since last years fair, showing her goats.

So this year Em got to pick out a few very special Does to add to her own little show herd.

Although, these does have been at the farm for a while, we wanted to give them a - better late than never - introduction.

First up is prob Em’s favorite doe.

Earlier this spring we had a little doeling on hold from Bridgeport Farms Nigerian Dwarf Goats. But when we went to go visit to meet the little doeling, this special little goat and Em bounded instantly. They spent pretty much the whole visit together so of course this is who came home with us.

Meet Bridgeport Farms Quill’s Quinn (Quinn). Em will be showing her at fair here in about 2 weeks as well as her first ADGA show mid August. These two have been practicing every single day. And as where we still need to learn, and work on, being set up. Em has done a fabulous job of getting her used to walking on a lead and standing nicely!

And as where Em loves all her goats. Quinn is always right at the door waiting for her every single day and these two can frequently be seen snuggling in the pen together.

Thank you so much Karen for a special goat to start Em’s herd off.
