We had the most delicious time on our cheesetastic trip to Madison πŸ§€

We are so grateful to and for letting us tour their creameries and ask a million questions πŸ’œ if you love cheese, give these folks a follow and if you're in Wisconsin, give their tasty and award-winning cheeses a try!

It was extra fun to come across Dreamfarm cheese on the menu at Ahan and let me tell you: chef's kiss!

It is incredibly inspiring when we get the chance to meet other folks in the dairy industry. It helps us shape our own design with careful thought and detail. We happened to be in Madison during the which was a fun surprise! We also discovered which is heaven.

Madison quickly became a beloved destination with amazing culinary experiences!

If you plan to be in Madison you must give these places a try!

Chores are no joke in extreme cold! But when you have livestock, you're committed to caring for those babies no matter what the weather is or how you feel.

We do not have a heated barn so that our goats can grow their thickest, hardiest winter coats. Their winter coats keep them hardy in negative temps! Goats are more tolerant of the cold than being wet, so it's important that we keep the barn well ventilated to prevent moisture buildup. They often work up a sweat in their cuddle puddles, which can lead to frosty tips!

We use a deep litter method and frequently add dry bedding to keep it clean, fresh, and cozy. We also keep everyone stocked with plenty of hay and warm water. Occasionally I'll add a little molasses to the water for an extra treat that supports their rumen. A goat's rumen acts as their internal "furnace", which also helps keep them warm!

We have two does that we coat in extreme cold. Desi has had skin issues for the last few years and Praline is originally a southern belle. They both show signs of stress in the cold, so we help them out with jackets.

Otherwise everyone seems unfazed by the weather and pleased with the molasses tea and abundance of hay.

is a q***r dairy goat farm run by married duo Danielle and Grace Perkowitz with their son Tristan. It’s located in the heart of the Keweenaw Peninsula. BigGoat Farm offers a line of high-quality goat’s milk soap. They also offer bucks for stud service, as well as goat kids for sale. This year, BigGoat Farm will begin construction on the infrastructure needed to meet goat cheese regulatory standards.

Danielle and Grace are excited to offer experiences on their farm. It's a joy to share the magic of BigGoat Farm and their herd with othersβ€”to be a part of a person's chance to disconnect, take in nature, and get as many goat kisses as they please. They have been told the farm has exceptionally loving goats and attribute it to passion for what they do.

It's a sure sign of spring as the snow and ice melt off the Portage Canal and sunshine illuminates Houghton's tall, sandstone buildings on Shelden Avenue. Waterfront walks spin to life with laughter and activity and forests awaken with green life peeking above diminishing snow. Grab your waterproof....
