Good morning and Happy November, Pumpkin Pals!

Everything in our patch is now free for the taking, but we'd love it if you left us a little donation (no matter how small!). Our yard signs have Venmo, PayPal, and Zelle QR codes on them, or if you'd prefer to leave some folding money, you can put it in an envelope at the main entrance and drop it in the locking mailbox there. Literally, take whatever you'd like - they will be disposed of Saturday morning. Big ones, little ones, orange ones, white ones, smooth ones, bumpy ones... you get the drill - now come get your pumpkins!

Don't forget: people still need pumpkins in November AND IT'S NOT CHRISTMAS YET, MARIAH CAREY AND WALMART!!! šŸ¤¬ šŸ˜

Thank you so much for your support this year! Have a happy rest of your year, and we'll see you next October! šŸ§”šŸŽƒšŸ§”šŸŽƒ

Happy Monday, pumpkin fans!

PLEASE SHARE THIS POST.

You may not be aware, especially if your household contains children, but Halloween is in a few days. HAVE YOU BOUGHT YOUR PUMPKINS YET? It's a law somewhere that you must have pumpkins on Halloween, and we've been shown peer-reviewed sources which state pumpkins from our pumpkin patch are 89% better than any other pumpkins. Don't be an 11 percent-er, please.

Because we're in the final stretch, we're shifting gears. We'll be business-as-usual through the end of the day Thursday (that's Halloween, you know), and here's how that will look:

Through the end of that day, you can use Venmo, PayPal, or Zelle - QR codes are on signs throughout the yard - to buy, or, if you aren't good with the techno-apps (I'm looking at you, Nana šŸ‘µ), you can leave cash in the envelopes and drop in the lockbox at the church's main entrance.

We are super grateful to our home of Saint Thomas the Apostle Episcopal Church of Nassau Bay for hosting us and for Cub Scout Pack 1965 - Clear Lake/Nassau Bay one of the many ministries of the church, for working so hard this month!

ALL DAY FRIDAY: help yourself. Please leave a donation (using aforementioned QR codes or cash in the lockbox) and take whatever you'd like. Need 20 pumpkins but only have a $5 bill? God bless you and yes please.

DON'T FORGET: contrary to what Walmart wants you to believe, there is a thing called Thanksgiving Day and you need pumpkins then, too. Cute ones for centerpieces, or to sit on chargers, or big fat ones to cut up and make into pies, breads, cookies, or whatever your adventurous little culinary minds can come up with.

Saturday will be a campus work day at St. Thomas and there will still be pumpkins, but we'll be actively throwing them away. We want to share them with y'all, so please come Friday and take what you'd like. We respect St. Thomas and aren't going to leave them in the yard indefinitely, so please come get them Friday (or early Saturday). We just can't sit them aside for you - we apologize in advance.

Thank you all so much for your support this year!

Good morning, pumpkin lovers!

It's our final weekend to be open, and because we know you love it so much, we ordered EXTRA HUMIDITY* for you!

Come on by and bask in the delicious warmth and sogginess that is SE Houston in late October and pick up some pumpkins.

*we apologize in advance and are not responsible if you have curly or frizzy hair.

šŸŽƒ Attention, Pumpkin Peeps šŸŽƒ

The clock is ticking, and THIS is the last Friday and weekend before the spookiest day of the year! That's right, the time for cobwebs, costumes, and carving greatness is NOW. Halloween is creeping closer than your neighbor when they borrow your tools and never give them back. šŸ˜¬šŸ‘»

Now, letā€™s talk pumpkins because we still have a couple hundred absolute Hall of Famers just waiting for you to take them home. These beauties are in prime conditionā€”perfect for carving, Instagram flexing, or just sitting on your porch being their fabulous, pumpkin-y selves. šŸ’ŖšŸŽƒ But donā€™t wait, because these pumpkins are going faster than candy corn at a dentist's convention. šŸƒā€ā™‚ļøšŸ¬

Need something smaller? Donā€™t worry, fam, we got you. We have craft pumpkins and colorful gourds for days. Great for painting, decorating, or, you know, whatever pumpkin lovers do with their pumpkins (details not needed, thanks!).šŸ˜šŸ‘€

(But seriously, if youā€™re feeling a little petty this spooky season, we do have some prematurely rotting onesā€¦ if your ex needs a little present on their doorstep. For ā€œeducationalā€ purposes, of course. Not that weā€™d ever condone that sort of thing, but also just sayinā€™. šŸ˜‰)

Look, this is your LAST WEEKEND CHANCE to sn**ch up some pumpkins before Halloween! Donā€™t be that person running around on Halloween morning trying to carve a watermelon (not cute, not cute).

Plus, think of the memoriesā€”grab the kids, take some epic photos, and remind them that you are the pumpkin hero they deserve. šŸŽƒšŸ¦øā€ā™‚ļø

So share this post with your friends, your neighbors, and maybe that coworker who insists on bringing store-bought cupcakes to the potluck. Letā€™s fill this weekend with laughter, pumpkins, and a whole lot of spooky fun.

As always, our very helpful (and stinking cute!) Cub Scout Pack 1965 - Clear Lake/Nassau Bay will be staffing the patch this weekend. Come say hi so they can practice their sales witches, we pitches!

SEE YOU THIS WEEKEND, FAM! šŸŽƒšŸ‘»

Ode to a Fall Day at St. Thomas

Oh, autumn day at St. Thomas fair,
A canvas painted with nature's care.
The sun, a golden orb in the sky,
Warms every soul with its cheerful eye.

A gentle breeze, a pumpkin's kiss,
Sweeps through the trees, a welcome bliss.
The pumpkin patch, a sight to behold,
A sea of orange, stories untold.

The air is filled with laughter and cheer,
As families gather, year after year.
The smells of food, a savory delight,
Fill every sense, a magical sight.

So let us rejoice in this autumnal scene,
A perfect day, a memory serene.
At St. Thomas fair, where joy abounds,
In nature's beauty, peace is found.

Hey, pumpkin fans!

Tomorrow is the big day! Our host Saint Thomas the Apostle Episcopal Church of Nassau Bay is having its Fall Festival from 9am-2pm. Come join us and pick up a few (or 12) pumpkins while you're here!

We'd like to give a huge shout to our girl's troop here: Scouts BSA Troop 1965 - Clear Lake/Nassau Bay (serving girls ages 11-18) sent a work detail to help tidy up your pumpkin patch today. Thanks, Scouts!

We'll see you tomorrow for pumpkins, great food (kids eat free!), music, an aerial circus, games for everyone, and a great time for your families. šŸŽƒšŸ§”šŸŽƒšŸ§”

Perfect Weather, PSLs, and Pumpkinsā€”The Ultimate Fall Combo!

Listen up, yā€™allā€”this weekendā€™s weather? Absolute perfection. Cool mornings, warm afternoons, and just enough breeze to make you feel like youā€™re in a fall movie montage. And what better way to enjoy it than with a pumpkin (or three) from the St. Thomas Pumpkin Patch?

Grab your PSL and a wagon and come shop with us! You canā€™t get more basic in the best possible wayā€”because nothing says fall like pumpkins and a steaming hot Pumpkin Spice Latte in hand.

Oh, and donā€™t forget, our Fall Festival is happening Saturday, the 19th, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring the kids for an aerial outdoor circus, games, climbing walls, axe-throwing, inflatable funā€”you name it, weā€™ve got it. And yes, thereā€™s BBQ and dessert, plus free beer for those who buy a cup from our homebrewers. šŸŗ

But nowā€¦ I need to get serious for a second.

WARNING: THE FOLLOWING IS NOT FOR CHILDREN. šŸšØ

We need to talk about what happens when you donā€™t buy a pumpkin. Iā€™m talking about broken-hearted, melting pumpkins, abandoned and left to decay in the sun. Itā€™s tragic, really. And yes, Iā€™ve got pictures to prove itā€”pictures so disturbing, theyā€™re not suitable for young eyes, but because we're a family pumpkin patch, I'll spare you and let our friend Lloyd demonstrate what happens when that smell hits your nostrils.

Gentle readers, I am a stay-at-home dad and while my youngest has been out of diapers now for six years, those 3am p**p explosion diapers are NOTHING compared to the smell these decaying pumpkins let off as they wither in the sun. I've spent a few hours this week beautifying our patch by throwing the bad ones out and rearranging them.

These beautiful pumpkins deserve better. Theyā€™ve traveled far, from the Navajo farms of New Mexico, and they want nothing more than to find a loving home on your porch.

Donā€™t be the person who lets these poor little guys melt away in the patch. Come this weekend, bring your family, grab your pumpkins, sip your PSL, and do your part to prevent unnecessary pumpkin heartbreak. šŸ’”šŸŽƒ

10/16/2024

Yep, We Did That. Youā€™re Welcome, Houston. šŸ‚šŸŽƒ

Alright, letā€™s not beat around the (pumpkin) bushā€”this perfect weather? The cool breeze, the low humidity, the absolute fall-ness in the air? Yeah, thatā€™s all thanks to us here at the St. Thomas Pumpkin Patch. šŸ˜

You're probably thinking, ā€œWow, how did they manage that?ā€ Well, when youā€™ve got the best pumpkins in town, you also get control over the weather. It's basic pumpkin patch magic. āœØšŸŽƒ

And guess what? Tomorrowā€™s forecast is even better! Cooler temps, gentle breezesā€”ideal conditions for getting out of the house, grabbing some pumpkins, and soaking in those fall feels.

So why wait? Come visit us at the patch, grab your pumpkins for carving, decorating, or just because you like carrying around round orange things. Youā€™ll thank us for the weatherā€”and hey, weā€™ll take full credit for that too.

See you tomorrow, fall lovers! šŸšŸ‚

The Fall Vibes Are About to Hit HARD in Houston! šŸ‚šŸ”„

Yo, Bay Area neighbors, fall* is officially dropping in less than 24 hours, and weā€™re here for every last cool, crisp moment. Tomorrow morning, weā€™re talking temps in the 60s and humidity below 40%ā€”if thatā€™s not prime-time pumpkin shopping weather, I donā€™t know what is! šŸ™ŒšŸŽƒ What's that? You work tomorrow? Don't we all - but we also all have lunch breaks.

Seriously though, think of a walk through our patch as therapy for your mind. This has been a hot, stressful year: high temps broke records, we had a derecho storm out of nowhere, Beryl came along and made a total mess of everything, and to cap it off: our Astros didn't make it as far as we hoped. Come out to the patch, close your eyes, inhale the pumpkins, sip your PSL, feel the cool breeze give you a chill, then feel the love. Once all your senses are engaged, neurons firing, and you've received that dopamine hit, hop back in your car for the last few hours of work, full energized and ready for the weekend.

Now, Iā€™m no meteorologist (or endocrinologist, as you can tell after that awkward stumble re: dopamine...), just your friendly neighborhood pumpkin peddler, but I know a perfect fall day when I see one. And you know what makes that weather even better?

St. Thomasā€™s Annual Fall Festival, happening THIS SATURDAY from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Weā€™re pulling out all the stops, people:

šŸŽŖ An aerial outdoor circus (yep, you read that rightā€”show starts at 10:30 a.m.)
šŸŽÆ Games and activities for the kids, including a climbing wall, axe-throwing, and inflatable games for everyone
šŸ— BBQ, desserts, and baked goods thatā€™ll make your taste buds dance
šŸŗ And, of course, for the adults who need a little something extraā€”our homebrewers are coming through with FREE beer. All you gotta do is buy a cup from them, and theyā€™ll fill with their best brews. šŸ»

So hereā€™s the deal: the weather is cool, the festival is hot, and our pumpkins are as fresh as they come. Whether youā€™re here for carving, baking, or just decorating the heck out of your porch, weā€™ve got the pumpkins** for you. Donā€™t bother with those other patchesā€”come out, grab your pumpkins, and enjoy a full day of fall fun with us.

St. Thomas Pumpkin Patch + St. Thomas Fall Festival = Fall dreams come true. See you Saturday! šŸŽƒšŸ‚

* we are most likely moving from Second Summer into Actual Fall, but Eric from Eric Berger: Space City Weather might say we're moving from Hell's Front Porch into False Fall. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø Like I said: I just sell the pumpkins - I'm no weather prognosticator.

** we have more than just pumpkins! We have all manner of small gourds, decorative squashes, and probably also some hay on the ground - so feel free to grab a handful or two of hay if you'd like, you know, because fall.

Donā€™t Sweat Itā€”Pumpkins Are Hot This Weekend, Too! šŸŽƒšŸ”„

Alright, yā€™all, letā€™s talk about the weather. Yeah, it was lovely this last week and itā€™s warming up this weekend, but guess what? So is the St. Thomas Pumpkin Patch! Weā€™re cranking up the fall vibes whether or not Mother Nature got the memo. šŸŒžšŸ‚

You might be thinking, ā€œOh no, the cool, crisp air is gone... Iā€™ll just wait until next week to get pumpkins.ā€ NOPE, donā€™t even go there! Hereā€™s why you need to get your pumpkin on this weekend:

šŸŽƒ Cool mornings? Check. It'll warm up a little bit during the day, but get here in the morning for perfect for pumpkin picking.

šŸŽƒ Warm afternoons? Ideal for taking ALL the cute kid pics without bundling them up.

šŸŽƒ Pumpkin perfection? Weā€™ve got ā€˜em. From carving pumpkins to baking beauties to those artsy pumpkins that will make your neighbors question why they didnā€™t try harder (lol tryhards).

While the other patches are still catching up, weā€™ve got you covered with pumpkins that are fresh off the vine, organic, and just waiting for their close-up on your porch (or Instagram, weā€™re not picky). And yes, we know some of you are just here for the picturesā€”donā€™t worry, we wonā€™t tell. šŸ“ø

So what are you waiting for? The St. Thomas Pumpkin Patch is open all weekend, and weā€™re ready to serve up all the fall feels, warm weather or not. Bring the kids, snap those pics, grab your pumpkins, and letā€™s make this the best fall everā€”even if the weatherā€™s feeling a little confused.

Come out this weekend and make your neighbors jealous, because nothing says fall like a trunk full of pumpkins and a camera roll full of adorable kid moments. Weā€™ll see you at the patch, Bay Area neighbors! šŸŽƒšŸ‚

And don't forget, on weekends our patch is staffed by the adorable Scouts of Cub Scout Pack 1965 - Clear Lake/Nassau Bay. They're here to help make your pumpkin dreams come true!

10/08/2024

Don't worry, Will Smith is just enjoying the dry air - he's not going to come running at you for putting other pumpkin patch's names in your mouth.

But speaking of slapping, how about this weather? Come out friends, and get your fall photos taken in our patch! We are extra cute (might go so far as to say demure, but thats already a few minutes old) and get even cuter on weekends with our helpful Cub Scouts who staff the patch.

Just remember: we're open to the public, and we (and you) can't exclude customers from the patch just so you can get that *perfect* shot.

Will Smith, after all, is watching... šŸ‘€

10/05/2024

Hey Bay Area friends, Get Your Pumpkins Before Kickoff! šŸˆšŸŽƒ

Alright, listen up: itā€™s Saturday morning, which means youā€™ve got two choicesā€”

1. Sit on your duff waiting for those *other* pumpkin patches to get their act together (*pssst, theyā€™re still not stockedā€¦ embarrassing*).

OR

2. Swing by the St. Thomas Pumpkin Patch, where weā€™ve been fully stocked for a week and are ready to rock your fall season.

Our pumpkins arenā€™t just sitting around twiddling their stemsā€”theyā€™re here for **all** your autumn needs:

šŸŽƒ Carving pumpkins (the classics, obviously).

šŸŽƒ Baking pumpkins (for that pie thatā€™ll make you the hero of Autumn).

šŸŽƒ Show-off pumpkins (get ready to make your neighbors jealous).

šŸŽƒ And yes, even Jeep-dashboard pumpkins for all you renegades out there whoā€™ve swapped out ducks for gourds (we donā€™t judgeā€¦ okay, maybe just a little šŸ¤”).

Hereā€™s the deal: Come out before the good football starts (we know youā€™ve got those SEC games bookmarked), grab your pumpkins, take some adorable fall pics with the kids, and STILL make it back in time to catch the big game.

You donā€™t want to be the one who shows up late to the pumpkin party with nothing but regrets and an empty porch, right?

So, what are you waiting for? Weā€™ve got the pumpkins, the fall vibes, and the shade-throwing attitude to keep you coming back for more.

Come see us before noonā€”because pumpkins donā€™t wait, and neither should you.

The St. Thomas Pumpkin Patch: Providing pumpkins for pros since 2018. šŸŽƒšŸ‚

Pumpkins Are HERE! Why Wait for the Cool Weather?

šŸŽƒ Alright, Nassau Bayā€”we see you eyeing the weather. Yes, itā€™s gonna cool off next week (and maybe weā€™ll all stop melting), but letā€™s be honestā€”do you really want to wait until Tuesday to get your fall on? Hesitating on that answer? Let us help: NO, you donā€™t! Especially when we've got pumpkins ready and waiting for you this weekend, unlike some of those other patches who decided to wait until several days into October to even receive theirs. šŸ˜

Yeah, weā€™re talking about you, "Unnamed Pumpkin Patches" in the region! Weā€™re out here working hard for YOUā€”while theyā€™re still snoozing and waiting for their pumpkins to arrive, weā€™ve already received nearly 4,000 from our farmers up in northern New Mexico. Theyā€™re fresh, organic, and, dare we say, superior? (We dare.)

Not only are these pumpkins beautiful and perfect for all your fall needs (whether thatā€™s carving, cooking, or just flexing on your neighbors with your decor), but they also come with a pretty cool backstory. Our pumpkins are grown with love and care by Navajo farmers on their reservation. Youā€™re not just buying a pumpkinā€”youā€™re directly supporting those communities. Most of the proceeds from our patch go right back to them, helping their families and their farms. So yeah, when you buy a pumpkin from us, youā€™re doing some good in the world while also getting your autumn vibes right.

Letā€™s break it down:

šŸ‚ Why wait until Tuesday to enjoy the cooler temps when you can come this weekend, sweat a "little" less, and lock in your pumpkins now?

šŸ‚ While others are dragging their feet, weā€™ve already got our pumpkins hereā€”because we care about your fall experience, obviously.

šŸ‚ Delicious and organic? Yes, please. These pumpkins are not just prettyā€”theyā€™re food-quality, too. (Don't make us channel our inner Benjamin Buford Blue and tell you alll the different things you can do with pumpkins...)

Hereā€™s how to get in on the action:

šŸ›’ Grab your wagon, your family (leave Fluffy at home unless youā€™re on p**p patrol), and swing by this weekend to load up on pumpkins before the rest of the crowd catches on.

šŸ“± Pay with ease 24/7 using Venmo, PayPal, Zelle via our on-site QR codes. If youā€™re more of an old-school cash person, hit up the lockbox near the back of the church. Or if you like human interaction, weā€™ll be at the sales table 9 a.m. ā€“ 6 p.m. with card readers and smiles.

Why wait? Weā€™ve got the pumpkins, weā€™ve got the vibes, and weā€™re here to make your fall season unforgettable. See you this weekend! šŸšŸŽƒ

A MASSIVE THANK YOU (and Why You Should Buy a Pumpkin from Us!)

šŸŽƒ First things firstā€”THANK YOU to the over 50 incredible volunteers, ages 5 to 60, who showed up yesterday and helped us unload nearly 4,000 pumpkins! šŸ’Ŗ Our backs may be sore, but our hearts are FULL. Thereā€™s nothing like coming together to serve our community, and thanks to you, our pumpkin patch is officially ready for business!

Now, letā€™s get real for a second. Sure, you can head over to HEB, Kroger, or even Walmart and grab a pumpkin for a little less. But heyā€”you get what you pay for, and our pumpkins are in a league of their own.

Hereā€™s why:

šŸ§” These beauties were plucked just 4 days ago, meaning theyā€™re as fresh as can be, proudly rocking their organic, food-grade status (do you think you can cook with those, crusty, dusty old pumpkins from big-box stores, which have been sitting in big boxes in the stores for 3 weeks already? Gamble with your own gastrointestinal tracts, friends...).

šŸ§” The majority of proceeds go back to the Navajo farmers who grew these pumpkins with love and care. Youā€™re not just buying a pumpkinā€”youā€™re supporting an entire community of Native Americans.

šŸ§” And lastly, these pumpkins help fund the many ministries at St. Thomas, including Cub Scout Cub Scout Pack 1965. So when you grab a pumpkin here, you're doing good for our community and beyond.

Hereā€™s how you can get your hands on one (or ten):

šŸ‚ Bring your crew: Mom, dad, the kids, and yes, even Grandma if sheā€™s feeling the fall spirit. Justā€¦ maybe leave your dog at home unless you're fully prepared to do some, uh, extra cleaning up after Fluffy.

šŸ‚ Grab a wagon and start picking those pumpkins! Our patch is the perfect backdrop for your next family photoā€”think sweeter than the sweetest PSL. I mean, bless HEB's heart for trying to make a little place for you to sit down, but seriously fam, who wants to see Frank from the Deli Department in his weird hairnet unloading salami in the background of your fall photos? šŸ‘€šŸ‘€

šŸ‚ Pay easily: Weā€™ve made it super simple for you to check out, so no excuses!

Payment Options:

šŸ“± 24/7: Anti-social? No problem. Use our QR codes on-site to pay with PayPal, Venmo, or Zelleā€”all from your phone!

šŸ’µ Cash? Drop it in the lockbox near the back doors of the church. Grab a ā€œpumpkin moneyā€ envelope and youā€™re set.

šŸ’³ Pumpkin Business Hours (10 a.m. ā€“ 6 p.m., Sat & Sun): Swing by the table, say hi, and pay with cash, card (debit or credit with a $2 fee), or Apple/Google/Samsung Pay!

šŸ”” Weekdays: Ring the doorbell at the main entrance, and one of our lovely volunteers will help you pay by any of the above methods.

Weā€™ve got pumpkins galore, and we canā€™t wait for you to enjoy them. Whether youā€™re here to decorate, carve, or just soak in the fall vibes, your purchase means the world to us and our community. See you at the patch, Bay Area neighbors! šŸŽƒšŸ

A sea of orange has descended upon Saint Thomas the Apostle Episcopal Church of Nassau Bay! Our pumpkins have arrived and the pumpkin patch is officially open for business (but there won't be any live bodies there until 9am Sunday, 29 September).

We are so grateful to the almost 50 people from the following organizations who helped us unload over 3000 pumpkins in about 4 hours today: Cub Scout Pack 1965 - Clear Lake/Nassau Bay, Scouts BSA Troop 1965 - Clear Lake/Nassau Bay,. Scouts BSA Troop 1966 - Clear Lake/Nassau Bay, ASSISTEENSĀ® OF THE BAY AREA, Clear Lake High School PTSA, neighbors of the City of Nassau Bay (most of whom are in the Discover Nassau Bay) group, and various other teens who have up part of their beautiful Saturday morning to lend a hand.

More posts to come tomorrow, but we wanted you to know we're here early (because we're overachievers and didnt want to wait until October to open) and ready to serve all your pumpkin needs. šŸŽƒ

šŸšØ THIS IS NOT A DRILL! šŸšØ

The pumpkins are coming TOMORROW at 9:00 a.m.! Thatā€™s right, folksā€”over 3,000 pumpkins are rolling into town, and we need all hands on deck to unload these beautiful, bumpy gourds.

šŸ‘€ Got a teen in need of volunteer or community service hours? This is their chance to earn those hours while becoming a part of the pumpkin-pushing dream team. Weā€™ll sign off on hours, no problemā€”just bring the energy and a smile (or at least a grunt, we get it - teens be angsty sometimes). Don't forget to bring your service hours forms... and we could always use extra wheelbarrows and wagons for the unload!

Hereā€™s the deal:

šŸŽƒ WHEN: Tomorrow morning. Be here by 8:45 a.m. to get hyped before the truck rolls in at 9:00.

šŸŽƒ WHAT: Unloading pumpkins, community-building, and having a blast.

šŸŽƒ WHY: Because pumpkins arenā€™t just a fall accessoryā€”theyā€™re a mission, and we need YOU to help us make this the best pumpkin season yet!

And listen, this isnā€™t just about heavy lifting. This is about fall glory. Be part of the team that makes our patch the best in town. Weā€™re creating something special here for our sixth consecutive year, and I want you to be part of it.

Parents, get those teens out of bed! Friends, bring a buddy! Letā€™s turn this pumpkin unload into a fall celebration that kicks off the season with a bang. Iā€™m counting on you. The pumpkins are counting on you. The Great Pumpkin himself might be watching.

Tomorrow, 9:00 a.m.ā€”be there, or forever wonder what itā€™s like to be a pumpkin hero. šŸŽƒšŸ’„
