Thought we’d spotlight one of our two Toggenburg junior herd sires this week! Legendairy RS Rhadioactive is tall, sharp, and long, favoring his dam, GCH (pending) Legendairy Chip’s Rhadio Star. His sire, Royal Cedars Sausy Sebastian, is a well proven buck that has sired one national champion, and is a sibling to another. We love our own promising young Sebastian daughter, Legendairy RCSS Rhose Quartz, who already makes an appearance on this quarter’s ELITE list! Rhadioactive will be bred to our “T” line this fall — Tonks, Taliesen, and Tourlamine 😊 https://genetics.adga.org/PedigreePrint.aspx?RegNumber=T002512399

We all know how hard it is to sell goats but selling to good homes and fantastic owners sure makes it easier! ❤️

Wanted to highlight Wisconsin State Fair results and congratulate Olivia Adams with her GCH Alpine, BOB, Best in Show and Best Udder in Show with Kara Kahl Vic’s Aretha! She looked absolutely fantastic and she was shown and managed to a T. We also want to congratulate Seth and Addi Loudenbeck with their Reserve Champion Alpine win with Kara Kahl Speeding Away. She also topped a competitive class of 25 2-year olds!! Speedy was our 2024 Spotlight Sale Consignment and we are thrilled with how she turned out for them. Congrats to both Olivia and Loudenbecks!

We are so thankful these two does have such amazing owners taking excellent care of them and showing them to their full potential.

Pictures of Aretha and Speeding Away shared with permission of owners.

We do not breed for January kids. Also Amberness- that is your dad. So double no.

I don’t bring in doelings too often, but when Emma messaged me this spring asking if I would be interested in this doeling since Aziz had twin does, I had a hard time refusing. Welcome to EK Rose KVPH Avalanche! Her dam, CH Kara Kahl PGW Aziz, a full sister to GCH Kara Kahl PGW Akebono, achieved much in her very short show career, appraising 89 as a first freshening 2 yr old, milking just under 3000 lbs, and becoming a champion before a case of mastitis cut her career short at just 3. Emma was able to give her a wonderful home and a mastectomy and she has gone on to become an excellent brood doe in her herd. Avalanche’s AI sire, SGCH Kickapoo Valley Proud Hawkeye has been on the Elite Sire list twice, sired two National class winners and was the son of a National class winner, SGCH Kickapoo Valley Careless Elegy, 1st place 2 yr old in 2016.

Avalanche was going to make her first show debut but her papers arrived a day late, so just snapped her picture. She will be bred to our Jr, Herd sire, Pleasant Grove Zee Motorama this fall. Pictured is Avalanche and her dam, Aziz, at 2.

Kara Kahl Vic’s Assisi was first place yearling of 6 yesterday. Assisi was the Reserve Jr. champion at the 2025 National show. I am excited to continue to watch her mature and have a fun AI planned this fall to Kickapoo Valley Make it Jive. We retained Assisi’s doe kid, Kara Kahl Aiko Anchessca, who was also 1st in her class yesterday. Anchessca was born 9 days early on my birthday, lived in the house for a few weeks but has really started to come together. She will bred to our Jr. Herdsire Pleasant Grove Zee Motorama this fall.

Olmsted county fair today! Been pretty quiet at the farm since early June with no nationals and linear not being scheduled in our area this year. Two year old Kara Kahl Arul Amberness won her 2nd leg towards her championship and her paternal Aunt, Kara Kahl Whimsical Arula was reserve. Arula’s yearling daughter, Assisi, won 1st place yearling in a nice large class and Assisi’s doe kid was 1st place intermediate kid. A family affair today!
Pictured is Amberness. Next up will be our state fair and updating our website!

Wanted to highlight a doe we sold to a pretty awesome person a couple of years ago, GCH Kara Kahl Vic’s Aretha, who this past week won the 5-6 yr old class and won Reserve Best Udder at the ADGA National Show!! Aretha was also an Arugula daughter, making her the second Arugula daughter to win her class at Nationals after Akebono, the 2021 National champion.

This is an excellent example why it is good to sell good goats to great homes. Two years ago, Olivia Adams asked if I had a nice alpine I would sell that she could use in her final year of youth showmanship and 4-H and help build her herd. I had four 3 year olds and Aretha was the easiest to show and had a strong show record. That year, Olivia ended winning first place in senior showmanship at nationals and overall Alpine Youth champion doe in 2024 and this year was 1st and reserve best udder in the open show. As I told her, I just bred the goat and got her started, she has continued to maintain fantastic management to get her to her full potential.

Congratulations Olivia and thank you for doing all you have done with Aretha! (And if you need a buck, Aretha had triplet bucks this year and has 1 left!- contact Olivia!)

Best of the Midwest was a great show, great volunteers and excellent turnout! Thank you to the show committee, especially huge shout out to Shellie Gilberston and Kirsten Zoellner for all of their hard work in putting this show on.

Started with a huge youth show, Maya was 6/16 for showmanship, which she was excited about. Zoe’s class was so big it was cut and she made the cut this year and placed 8th. The Costume class was a highlight with Maya’s milk and Cookies entry and Zoe was a nurse with an injured goat. Cousin Daisy won as a Zombie Hunter!

I (Emily) just brought three Alpines, two yearlings and a 2 yr old, but they did well. Yearling Kara Kahl Jamon Aja was 1 x 1st, 2 x 2nd of 7. Assisi placed 2x 3rd, 1 x 4th. My two yr old Amberness was 2 x 1st and 1 x 3rd of 10. Just a few ring shots of Aja and Amberness to share. Both need to deepen out over the summer and I am excited to see how they look by August/September.

Summer will be pretty relaxed for the goats show wise with Nationals not in their future this year, so they can sit back and just mature and produce for the next couple months.
