September is HUNGER ACTION MONTH! Sysco has partnered with @feedingamerica to raise awareness and inspire action to help people facing the impossible choices of hunger. We believe no one should have to choose between food and electricity.
In addition to our recent donation to the organization, Sysco also donated over 12 million pounds of food to Feeding America food banks which = 10 million MEALS in Fiscal Year 2022.

"Out with the old, in with the new," has a whole new meaning with Sysco's global partnership with FreshFry, Louisville-based firm that creates and distributes the FreshFry Pod, a transformative pod that extends the life of frying oil in just one use.
FreshFry successfully redeployed 10 million pounds of waste by the end of 2021, & will repurpose one billion pounds of waste by 2031. Cheers to 'Transforming Waste into a Promising Future,' as the firm's mission states, one fryer at a time.

Volunteer Spotlight: Nicole
"Since the start of the pandemic, I have volunteered at the Hope Dealers Market and Common Heart Food Bank in Indian Trail, North Carolina," says Nicole. "I have spent Saturdays sorting food, cleaning the facilities, picking up donations from local grocery stores and delivering them to Common Heart, as well as loading cars that came through the donation line. With the day-to-day stresses, it is easy to focus on everything that is wrong. I choose to focus on others and doing what I can to provide support and encouragement.”
