‼️BARN BLOWOUT‼️

It’s been a great spring selling prospects, and while we are sold out of barrows, we do still have five high quality gilts available mostly ideal for July/August end points. With my travel picking up, I’d like to get them out of my barn and off my feed bill as soon as possible, so they are priced to move!

Now I know some of you will assume these are junk and all the “good ones” are gone: rest assured the ones I wouldn’t entertain feeding left as feeder pigs this past week. All five are square built, square hocked, have a feedable look. I’ll drop brief individual descriptions under each photo.

⚪️SHELBY COUNTY (OH) FAMILIES: These are all eligible for the Born & Raised Show in July.

HOW THIS WILL WORK:

🟪PIGS MUST BE PAID FOR BEFORE THEY LEAVE THE FARM. We live in the 21st Century, so Venmo is preferred (-Showpigs). If you claim a pig, you have six hours to pay… I’m not holding these forever.
🟪Pigs need picked up by Friday, March 13th by 8PM unless meeting a third-party hauler, which I’ll happily get them to.
🟪No videos. Sorry but I do not have the time to get you one. You’ll have to put your faith in me like others have.
🟪Pigs have been vaccinated for Myco/Circo, Ery/Flu, and have also received a MLV PRRS vaccine (Prevacent). They are ready to roll!

FAST TRACK X SPLURGE X TARANTINO’S SISTER (FAMILY TIES X SECRET SOCIETY X COOKIE X BACHELOR PARTY)

To no one that knows me surprise, I’m behind the eight ball on advertising. I’m not a “boar stud” and have no desire to be: I’m simply a breeder trying to make better livestock. CUTTHROAT was purchased with intention from Lane Mai knowing what I had for keeper females in the pipeline. After numerous visitors have asked this spring what’s the deal with the boar in the corner pen beyond the farrowing crates, I’ve decided we’ll let everyone have a stab at trying him.

I’m not going to profess to you that CUTTHROAT is a “FREAK,” but rather the kind that can fix many of the challenges myself and others have told me they face in today’s day and age. Yes, he’s proportional and broad built with large limbs, but beyond that he’s long off both ends of his skeleton, has the skeletal width, feature, and muscularity needed to be relevant, and possesses the one trait that never goes out of style regardless of era: balance. Throughout his maturity, CUTTHROAT did the right things day-in/day-out: he ate, he grew (!!!), he got even stouter, and he stayed square built and sound. I’m using him on bulkier females that need to be longer coupled on either end knowing he won’t make them tall, flat and narrow.

For those who aren’t reading all that, here’s your cliff notes:

⚪️: Incredible skeleton, angularity and ROM
🟪: “Complete,” but certainly not common
⚪️: One that reads like a “fixer.” He’s not going to get you off into the weeds
🟪: Hails from a firm that breeds GOOD, FUNCTIONAL livestock that win pig shows at a high clip!!!

Thanks again to Lane for putting CUTTHROAT together. He’s priced in everyone’s wheelhouse at $150/DOSE: NO OVERRUN. I travel for my career so if you want to sample him, give me a heads up ahead of time. Otherwise, you’re SOL.

Dam was a keeper out of the immortal Hot Take 47-3 at DHSP back on the S4-bred ARK Emotion x Dominator x High Country female that waxed the competition in the Ohio winter jackpot series a few years ago for Austin Fourman and was the eventual high-seller at Winter Type Conference. I’ve sorted and seen enough Yorkshires over the years to know that these 18-litter males excel where many in this breed do not currently. I’m not known for much (and certainly not for having pures) but I have a world of faith that these will feed: they are functional, stout constructed athletes!

My minds been going a mile a minute the past few days and I’ve forgotten to post this: THE BARN IS OPEN AND PIGS ARE AVAILABLE OFF THE FARM!!

Due to interest and demand I’ve decided to forego having an online auction for the earliest group. Everything is prepriced and ready to roll, with the vast majority being best suited for June - early August endpoints. Gasp x Sit ‘N Spin x Keep ‘Em Guessing x Filthy’s Dam (Visionary x Beyond x Super Monster [Visionary’s Dam])

We finally got a break from the Ohio winter yesterday and had sunshine, which made for a perfect opportunity to repicture and revideo our consignment to the National Swine Registry’s Sires of the South showcase and sale on January 15th.

In conversations with numerous breeders over the past months I’ve heard how many are struggling to find “fresh air” to implement without sacrificing the design, proportionality, feature and comfort level needed to be relevant in 2026 and beyond. I am confident that 9-4 can bring these ideas to frution.

Phenotypically, this Gasp son possesses the proportions sought after by many and does so on a loose hinged, comfortable skeleton. He’s a shapely, square constructed hog that is sharp about his edges, bold in his cage from forerib to flank, and truly stout about his pin set with a long hip and a functional hind leg. I feel where he is most unique however is his ability to be elevated and extended from the blade forward without studying upright through his scapula and knee nor sarcificing width through the center portion of his blade or when studied at the surface.

Perhaps the most unique attribute 9-4 offers is his pedigree. His sire, Gasp, is a Breath Taker x Rumor Has It x Dirt Bag (Dirty Secret x Visionary) x Sugar Daddy I purchased part interest in as a weanling from Maag Family Showpigs in 2024. Sit ‘N Spin was a Safeword (Teen Spirit son from Wintex at Upperhand Genetics) x Dirty Bill x Visionary x Beyond x Visionary’s dam I raised that was a littermate to our $6,250 entry purchased by Mike Bond/Valleybrook Farms at The Draft in 2021 (the last time I offered a boar to the general public.) Keep ‘Em Guessing for his time was the popular Blurred Vision x Visionary x Bear son raised by Justin Gorman and directly out of the influential “Daisy” sow that stood at SGI. Beyond that is my foundation Visionary x Beyond x Super Monster (Visionary’s dam) x Enterprise sow that first gained notoriety as the dam of Filthy at SGI and has since became the backbone of my entire program since 2017. If you’re still reading along, you’ll see that 9-4 has one sole shot of the legendary Tricked Out as his paternal grandsire, and beyond that hails from a sow line that is linebred Dirty Secret-Visionary-Super Monster (and more…)
