My name is Rich Richardson, founder of BUS IT-N-CATCH IT.
I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. As a little boy, I remember watching garbage trucks come through my neighborhood and seeing the men riding on the back, picking up trash. I thought to myself, “That looks like a cool job. Maybe one day I’ll do that.”
Life had a different plan. That childhood memory stayed with me, and years later I realized God was preparing me for a different kind of mission—one that would solve a problem I saw every day in restaurants.
Instead of working in sanitation, I spent more than 30 years in the restaurant and hospitality industry. I worked my way through the business and learned every part of restaurant operations. Day after day, I saw how much time employees spent bussing tables, cleaning up spills, and picking up food debris, and trash that fell to the floor.
Then one day, an idea came to me. I truly believe God gave me the vision. I asked myself, “Why are we still cleaning tables the same way we’ve done it for decades? There has to be a better way.”
That question led to the invention of BUS IT-N-CATCH IT. and received a US patent
It’s a simple idea with a big purpose: helping employees clean tables faster while catching spills, food, and debris before they hit the floor. It helps create a cleaner environment, saves money, labor, and time makes one of the toughest jobs in a restaurant a little easier.
Today, that vision is becoming reality. My invention is moving into production and will soon be available for sale. My goal is to see BUS IT-N-CATCH IT used in restaurants across America.
But my vision doesn’t stop there.
I see it being used on cruise ships, in casinos, hotels, stadiums, food courts, cafeterias, daycare centers and anywhere people gather to eat. And enjoy beverages Wherever there’s a table to clean, I believe BUS IT-N-CATCH IT has a place.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that your background doesn’t determine your future. A little boy from Detroit who once admired garbage collectors grew up to invent and patent a new way to clean up trash, spills and debris left on tables in restaurants Sometimes the smallest ideas solve the biggest everyday problems.
My mission is simple: make table cleanup cleaner, faster, and smarter—one table at a time.

BUS IT -N-CATCH IT is a single-mold plastic unit with a detachable scraper; it is hand-held and portable. It is commercial dishwasher safe and can be easily stored on a shelf or hung by the built-in keyhole opening.
