A few months ago we released a number of ladybugs bugs to help us keep insect pressure down.

They did an amazing job and have clearly been busy.

Pictured is a lady bug larvae, the second stage in the life cycle of the lady bug.
Creepy looking? Yes.
But harmless and extremely beneficial. Also yes.

Happy Friday everyone!
Let's talk soil! What makes for good soil?

A good soil has three things; drainage so it doesn't hold too much water, something that will retain the moisture you do want and, nutritional value for you plants. Lastly, nutrients or any additional components to fight off things like pests or insect pressure. Our soil consists of; perlite, to aid in drainage, coco coir to retain the moisture we want, and compost to give our plants the nutrients they require. We also add things like diatomaceous earth to help fight bug pressure.

All of these are organic products, allowing us to grow the fresh, delicious produce you expect!

Send in the 🐞 🐞 🐞!

Today on the farm we deployed a few hundred ladybugs. Ladybugs are an extremely beneficial insect to any garden. They are a natural predator to many pests including, thrips, aphids, flies, and mites.

This means we don't have to use chemicals or pesticides on any of our organic produce.

Good morning friends!

We continue to ramp up the growing here on the farm and are working to make some improvements as well.

We have a wonderful selection of tomatoes, hot peppers, and fresh lettuce that will be available at our produce stand soon! 🍅🌶🥬

We've also been working hard to clear access to a retention pond on the property. This will be used to supply water to our pumpkin field, as well as supply a beautiful aesthetic for our visitors!
