Bruce is remembering that 48 years ago, Diane lettered the mailbox when we moved out here to the end of the lane.

Seems like just yesterday we were kids getting married 50 years ago this week.

A nice clean bed of arugula is always a pleasure.

By the way… the self serve refrigerator is fully stocked with arugula, beets, broccoli, cucumbers, garlic scapes, leaf lettuce, parsley, radishes, spinach, spring onions, sugar snap peas, tatsoi and eggs. You can stop by any day during daylight.

It’s not just veggies tomorrow.

We will have an on farm market under our pavilion (350 Crust Rd.) from 8:00am to noon on Saturday, June 6th. We hope to have arugula, asparagus, beets, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cucumbers, escarole, garlic scapes, herbs, kale, kohlrabi, leaf lettuce, pac choi, radishes, spinach, spring onions, sugar snap peas, tatsoi, eggs and baked goods.

The chickens love lettuce harvest days. All the trimmings disappear in minutes.

We said we were cutting back this year. Well… that didn’t happen.

Picking from a fresh bed of spinach for Saturday’s market. It’s hooped and covered with insect netting primarily to keep the darn gold finches away. Once they find it, a flock of those gangsters will shred a bed of greens, especially beet tops or chard.

We are doing a little experiment with infusing vinegar with chive flowers. It sure is pretty if nothing else.
