Fresh chicken this week at Pine Grove Mills Farmers Market Fun Friday!

Spatchcocking a chicken is easier than you may think. Laying the chicken flatter on the grill makes it cook more evenly.

I cut the backbone out of this chicken with a pair of Cutco Super Shears. Any kitchen shears will do.

You can save the backbones in the freezer for some great stock when it gets colder.

The Farmer is working with Nittany Feed to develop some successful seed mixes for our challenging soils

We have had little growth when seeding into our poor soil in the past. Ben from Nittany Feed visited today and got to see our success this year. While it may not look great by normal standards, this growth makes us amazingly happy.

We will continue to use regenerative methods for planting and grazing to improve our soil.
