To our Salt and Light families,
As I sit and reflect on this first year of Salt and Light Academy, I honestly struggle to find the words to fully express what is in my heart.
What began as a vision God quietly placed on my heart became something far bigger than I ever could have imagined. There were so many moments where I felt unqualified, uncertain, and overwhelmed. I went from a season of retirement and comfort into building and running a school completely from the ground up. Learning as I went, often flying by the seat of my pants, trusting God to guide each next step even when I could not see the full picture ahead.
This journey has required sacrifice in every sense of the word. Long nights, stressful days, financial uncertainty, and stepping into the complete unknown. There were moments of doubt where I questioned if I was capable of carrying this vision, but time and time again, the Lord reminded me that this school was never mine alone to carry.
And through it all, He provided.
He provided the right families.
He provided encouragement at just the right moments.
He provided teachers, support, friendships, and a community united by a shared desire for something deeper for our children.
One of the greatest gifts of this year has been watching your children thrive. Seeing their joy, their confidence, their curiosity, their growth, and their love for learning has made every difficult moment worth it. Watching families come together with shared values, shared faith, and shared purpose has been something incredibly special to witness.
Many of you joined this journey before there was proof of success. Before there were polished systems, finished buildings, or guarantees. You chose to believe in the vision alongside me, and I will never take that trust lightly.
Thank you for your grace during the growing pains. Thank you for your prayers. Thank you for your encouragement on the hard days. Thank you for believing in what Salt and Light Academy could become.
This first year was built through faith, sacrifice, and the hands of so many people willing to help bring this vision to life. As we now prepare and build for next year, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for what God has already done and hopeful for what is still to come.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being part of this story.
With love and gratitude,
Tricia Chinners
