Naked boys! Got the sheep sheared this week! At 5 and 6 years old, their coated fleeces were prolific this year! They'll enjoy a week or so without their coats to get a good rainwater rinse and then their coats will be reapplied. I have to admit that I do love this yearly week of sheep-nudity... I love seeing their healthy physiques! ❤😁👍

A GORGEOUS day like this, deserves a fresh round bale of hay to celebrate! The sheep couldn't even wait until it was off the bale spear to dig in! 🤣😍

My second lock-woven chair rug is done! 😁

All of these white Leicester Longwool locks were naturally dyed using dye stuffs collected from around the farm... goldenrod, trumpet vine, queen anne's lace, sumac, marigold, black walnut and chicory.

When I dyed them a couple of years ago, the locks felted slightly, make them undesirable for hand spinning but perfect for rug making! So I finally put them to good use!

Really happy with the finished result...They make a beautiful assortment of oranges, yellows, golds, greys, browns and greens!

Over the weekend I finished the lockwoven chair rug that I started last week. It's passed it's quality-control cat scan, so it's ready for use!🤣 First time I've attempted this technique and I'm pretty pleased with the outcome. 😍

The weaving on this fully lock woven 20"x20" rug is slow going and tedious, but so rewarding! Dale's already placed an order for a lock woven vest... 🤔🤣

Today I'm attempting to weave some of Mick's Leicester Longwool locks into a 20"x20" rug, to be used as a seat cushion in my spinning chair.

For a holiday treat, we decided to feed the sheep a round hay bale. They loooved it!...
But would you look at what it did to their exposed wool?! 😮 THIS is exactly why they wear their coats! ❤
