UPDATE AS OF 10:00am-9:30pm Thursday May 28, 2026….. I came home around 10:15am from an appointment in Lynchburg this morning and the horses were running through the field so I drove down to the barn to see what was going on and they were chasing her again.
She has found her way back to the farm and I allowed her to have her day to just figure out what it’s like to be back at the barn. We did move all the donkeys and the horses to a lower field away from her and away from the barn so she can have some peace and quiet. she had breakfast and she had dinner and she is now resting and Cinders is super excited to have her back.
UPDATE AS OF 8:00am Thursday May 28, 2026……she has been seen on the trail cams eating in front of the humane dog trap. We are setting up a schedule to set out 2 meals a day and I will be walking the area to look for more tracks and get her acclimated to my voice and smell. More to follow. Please pray she continues to stay safe.
UPDATE AS OF 9:00am Wednesday May 27, 2026….. she’s coming closer. The neighbor saw her close to their border collie kennel so that’s a positive thing no evidence that she ate the food that we left out last night, but it did get watered down from a monsoon rain. I was able to walk up to her get probably 25 feet away from her. She was laying down she picked her head up. I said her name she kind of looked at me and then she stood up very quietly turned around and walked away into the high grass so she’s not ready to come home, but she’s getting very hungry and very tired. The Human live dog trap has been set and we’re working with an experienced trapper to guide us through this process.
UPDATE AS OF 6:30am Tuesday May 26, 2026….. she was sighted at our neighbors farm 6991 Johnson Mountain Road coming in and out of the dense wooded area but about 800 feet from their home. She is very scared and afraid. She is a lost guardian dog, but she is not aggressive. I am hoping to meet someone in Lynchburg to get a dog live trap to see if we can set a trap and catch her. I hope to have an update sometime today.
UPDATE AS OF 4:00pm Monday May 25th…. Seen at our neighbors farm 6991 Johnson Mountain Rd…. our property shares a boundary so she just crossed from our farm to theirs and has been seen close to their home, but we cannot get her hands on her. She is very scared and anytime she sees a person. She retreats back into the woods if anyone has a large animal trap that could put a dog in it that’s at least 27 inches tall and would let me use it. I would be so grateful.
MISSING from Nichols Farm Rd area of Huddleston Va
2 1/2 yr old Anatolian Shepherd, has a litter of pups 4 mths old. She is scared and afraid.
Please call Bedford County Animal Control 540-586-7827, Tracy 540-537-0800 or Jackie 540-293-5168 if you have any sightings of her.
She ran into the woods behind our farm. We were able to track her for a while. She is new to us. She’s only been with us less than 24 hours and we need her back. Her two puppies are missing her greatly.
Again, she’s new to the area. They just brought her from South Carolina yesterday so she doesn’t know me and doesn’t know the area.
