We will NOT be at Shannon’s or Boyette today, we had to run over to the east coast to pick up more shrimp 🦐 Looking at the size of these things, y’all will be glad we did!
Wanting to try our delicious rock shrimp but not sure how to prepare them? Check out the quick tutorial video! Cooking directions posted below 👇 Directions: 1. Turn your oven onto Broil and put your oven rack as high as it will go. 2. Spread your split and cleaned rock shrimp out shell side down on a cookie sheet. 3. Spoon melted unsalted butter over them and add seasoning (if preferred). 4. Slide your pan of rock shrimp into the oven. As the rock shrimp cook, their flesh will turn from opaque to white and their tails will roll up and scorch on the ends. The shrimp are done when the flesh just starts to pull away from the shell. It takes about 1 ½ – 3 minutes, depending on your oven. 5. Melt some butter in which to dip your rock shrimp and enjoy!

Happy Saturday folks!! In case you missed last nights post, we are happy to have both Local Seas Fisheries - west AND HM Cattle Co - Handley BEEF here at the farm today!! We will have both yellow corn and white corn today, but if you’re wanting white corn, you might not want to wait until later today to get yours. Like we’ve said before, it’s a smaller section and we will not have it again until next Spring.
David is currently headed to the market again to stock up on more fresh produce! He is usually back by 11 or so (depending on how crowded it is). Speaking of fresh produce, here’s a quick & easy recipe that we had last night made from a mixture of our produce. Of course you can change it up and add your favorites to it and it’ll be delicious!
Open 10-2 today.
Roasted veggies with smoked sausage
2-3 yellow squash
2-3 zucchini
3-4 sweet potatoes
3-4 carrots
1 onion (purple or white)
2 bell peppers ( any color)
Olive oil
Everglades seasoning (can be found in the spice section of your grocery store)
1 lb pkg of smoked sausage, sliced. You can add whatever your choice of meat, that’s just what we use.
Preheat oven to 400°. Wash and chop all veggies into chunks. Line a large shallow cookie sheet with foil. Add veggies, generously add olive oil and seasoning. Toss until all coated with olive oil.
Bake for about 35-40 minutes, turning veggies half way through cooking time with a large spatula. When done, remove from oven and add sausage, cook for 5-10 min until sausage is hot.
Enjoy!
