🐝 A LITTLE LOOK INSIDE THE HIVE! 🍯
Our observation hive at Rise of the Fallen Meadery has been BUSY, and we thought we'd give everyone a closer look at what they're up to.
And yes… that’s our Queen. 👑🐝
She has one very important job: keeping the next generation coming. Right now, you're potentially watching the colony begin to build the generation that will take them through winter. 🐝❄️
If you look closely at the video, you can see just how much activity is packed into a tiny section of comb. Some of those little white, curled-up residents you see in the cells are developing bee larvae. 🐝
And see all those little bee butts sticking out of the comb? 🐝 Those are worker bees with their heads buried inside the cells, tending larvae, cleaning cells and keeping the nursery running.
And now that we're heading into September, the colony's priorities start changing. They're still raising young bees, but they're also increasingly focused on building and protecting their food stores for the months ahead.
Next time you're at the Meadery, stop by the hive and see if you can find the Queen! 👑
After all, without the bees, there’s no honey…
and without the honey, there’s no Mead. 🍯⚔️
