Case-Barlow Farm, Inc., located in Hudson, Ohio, is a nonprofit corporation that was initiated with the purchase of the homestead previously owned by Donald and Helen Barlow in November of 1996. The land was donated to the First Congregational Church in 1996 before being purchased by the newly formed 501 c 3 non-profit group. The farm, house, buildings, and almost five acres were purchased to pres
erve the legacy of the Case and Barlow families and Hudson’s agrarian past. Since then, the house and property surrounding it have been renovated. Case-Barlow Farm credits the success of the initiative to the cooperative partnership and dedication of many groups and individuals. Hudson Heritage Association was a founding contributor to this effort, In addition, the founder's intent was to secure the property for the future as an educational and cultural center. Because of the melding of restoration and community use, this Case-Barlow Farm has become a model for adaptive reuse. Today the farm consists of a Farmhouse, Bank Barn, Carriage House, and miscellaneous outbuildings situated on 4.2 acres and surrounded by a 60-acre city-owned park called Barlow Farm Park. The farm is listed on the Ohio Historical Inventory, has received recognition by the Hudson Historical Society and is designated as an official Underground Railroad Site by the Friends of Freedom Society. Case-Barlow Farm, Inc. is an independent nonprofit corporation formed to restore the Case-Barlow homestead and to foster for future generations an appreciation for the spirit and heritage of its builders. Case-Barlow Farm will be a regional model of historic preservation and adaptive reuse. We will engage the community in an authentic interactive experience, offering a perspective of events, issues, and people of the Western Reserve from the past to the present. The Barn at Case-Barlow Farm has been beautifully restored with hand-hewn beams, period lighting and Tulip Poplar floors. The Barn is now available to rent for your Wedding, Corporate Event or Private Party. Please contact the Venue Event Coordinator for more information.
