Hudson... no additional introduction needed... Karyn with her love, expertise and experience in the Hudson area, growth and development as well as care for the community makes her a vital asset to the team!

We are excited to do another board introduction today. Karyn Kollitz, is one of the people helping to bring 570 Coulee to life.

Karyn has lived in Hudson, Wisconsin for nearly all of her life. She moved to the St. Croix Valley when she was nine years old and never left. In fact, she feels incredibly fortunate to have raised her children in the same house where she grew up. The beauty of this valley, the strength of its community, and its Midwestern values have shaped nearly every part of her life.

When Karyn isn’t working on 570 Coulee, she finds joy in the simple things that fill her up — spending time with family, hunting for agates, watching a sunset that stops her in her tracks, getting lost in a good book, or discovering new music that makes her smile.

Karyn feels incredibly fortunate to be working alongside a talented group of people whose vision, experience, and tireless work are bringing 570 Coulee to life. She is honored to be part of this important project and excited to see the difference it will make in our community.

Karyn’s heart for this work started long before 570 Coulee. As a founding board member of The Butterfly Path, she saw how powerful it is when people feel supported and connected. She also carries with her a lesson from her very first job at Christian Community Home — every person has something unique that sparks joy in their life. It might be music, animals, sunshine, nature, or a special memory. Karyn saw how a person could come alive when their “spark” was discovered and brought to them, and she believes 570 Coulee will create those same moments for adults 55+ in our community.

Karyn believes our community is missing a place where adults 55+ can feel truly seen, supported, and connected — a place that helps ease the isolation and loneliness that can sometimes creep in during these years. She believes 570 Coulee can be that home: a place where someone walks through the doors, finds their people, and feels that spark again.

When Karyn pictures community at 570 Coulee, she sees people learning together, laughing together, and welcoming one another with genuine kindness. She imagines the “regulars” greeting someone new and helping them quickly feel like they belong. She believes the warmth and spirit of 570 Coulee will be something people feel the moment they walk through the door.

If Karyn could spend an afternoon at 570 Coulee, she would choose something that brings people together — a nature walk, a creative workshop, or simply sitting in a sunny corner listening to members share their stories. To Karyn, that is what community is all about: people showing up for one another, growing together, and finding the joy that comes with connection.

Introductions continued!! Alicia is a vital part of the process and vision behind 570 Coulee. We're so excited that she is a part of this project and can't wait to see how she helps achieve the goals!

Today we continue our series introducing our board members. Next up is Alicia Schneider, one of the people helping bring 570 Coulee to life from the ground up.

Alicia was born and raised in Hudson and still calls it home today. In fact, she lives just down the road from 570 Coulee.

Hudson has always been special to Alicia. She loves the community, the people, and the feeling that comes from living in a place where people genuinely care about one another. And that’s a big part of what drew her to 570 Coulee.

Alicia is incredibly passionate about this board and the people who have come together around this idea. “It’s hard not to be inspired after talking with any one of them.”

To Alicia, 570 Coulee is about so much more than a building. It’s about creating a place where people 55+ can connect, keep growing, try new things, build friendships, and feel like they belong. “This is something our community needs.”

She believes there is something really special about watching an idea become a reality—and getting to be part of that process with a group of people who care so deeply about making it happen.

And while there is still a lot of work ahead, Alicia is excited about what’s coming. The programs. The gatherings. The conversations. The laughter. The people who will walk through the doors and make 570 Coulee what it is meant to be.

More than anything, she hopes 570 becomes a place people are proud to have in their community. A place that feels welcoming. A place that feels like theirs. Because 570 Coulee isn’t just about what happens inside the building. It’s about creating something that belongs to all who spend time there.

We’re grateful for Alicia’s passion, her love for Hudson, and her belief in what 570 Coulee can become. And we have a feeling she’ll be one of the people making sure this place is always full of good people, good conversations, and good fun. ❤️

Introductions Continued!

We’re excited to introduce Matt! During the transition and sale of the property, we had the pleasure of getting to know him—and we’re so grateful for the opportunity. Matt is a genuinely kind, passionate, and proactive person who’s always ready to jump in and support the team.

Meet, Matt!

Meet Matt Campana, one of our board members helping bring 570 Coulee to life from the ground up.

Matt spent the first 18 years of his life in the Washington, D.C. area, but he’ll tell you he has always felt like a Midwesterner at heart. He went to college in North Dakota, eventually settled in the Twin Cities suburbs, and made his way to Hudson in 2006.

What does he love most about Hudson? The small-town feel and the strong sense of community.

To Matt, being part of a community means working together, making sacrifices for the greater good, and stepping up to help where you can. "The world needs more volunteers.”

Matt comes from an I.T. background and is fortunate to have a job he truly enjoys at the Hudson Area Public Library. Outside of work and volunteering, life is centered around his wife and two daughters. He also loves trivia, watching the NFL, exercising, helping people, and, in general, staying busy. Matt claims, “Staying busy is truly relaxing for me.”

So, what brought him to 570 Coulee?

The opportunity to help create something from the ground up. “The thought of creating something that started as just an idea and then following it all the way through to reality, was so inspiring.”

Matt sees 570 Coulee as a place for people who want to keep growing. A welcoming place where older adults can share their stories, laugh together, make new connections, and maybe even step outside their comfort zones once in a while.

More than anything, he believes the St. Croix Valley needs a place that older adults can truly call their own.

And the moment he is most looking forward to? "The day those first older adults walk through that door.” When that day comes, Matt hopes they immediately feel welcomed. Happy. Like they belong.

If Matt had a free afternoon at 570 Coulee, he admits he would probably find himself thinking about ways to organize something or make something better. But he would also take the time to simply walk the property and take it all in. "It’s so beautiful.”

Looking ahead, Matt hopes—and fully expects—that 570 Coulee will become part of the St. Croix Valley lexicon. “When people hear ‘570 Coulee’ or see the logo, I want them to smile.” And really, that would mean we created exactly what so many people are working toward. Not just a building. But a place that feels like it belongs to all of us.

We’re grateful for Matt’s attitude, vision, tenacity, and apparent willingness to take on 18 acres with a lawn mower 😎

If you don’t yet, we’re so excited to introduce her—get ready to meet someone who brings warmth, heart, and true dedication to everything she does! ✨

Continuing on in our series of introducing our board, meet Claire Mireau - Vice President.

Claire grew up in Superior, but Hudson has been part of her life since childhood, when summers often included visits with her aunt and uncle. After finishing graduate school at St. Catherine University, Claire and her husband knew Hudson was where they wanted to build their life and raise their family. They were drawn to the downtown, the water, and the community they found at St. Patrick’s. For the past 12 years, they’ve called Hudson home, living just three miles from 570 Coulee Trail.

When she’s not working on 570 Coulee, Claire is usually with her husband, two daughters (10 & 13), and their two dogs—camping, swimming, enjoying the sauna, or coaching her girls’ rec softball and volleyball teams. By day, she teaches in the graduate occupational therapy program at St. Catherine University.

Claire loves anything that gets her hands moving or gets her outside—gardening, campfires, baking, knitting, macramé, puzzles, and creating meaningful art from things she has collected.

Her passion for 570 Coulee grew from 15 years working in occupational therapy and rehabilitation in psychiatric and substance use settings. Through that work, she saw firsthand how isolation, lack of support, and barriers to stability affect everyday people. While completing her PhD, one thought kept coming back: “We have to get further upstream.”

Claire envisioned a place where community, connection, purpose, and meaningful activities could support people long before they reached a crisis. In December 2023, after a youth softball meeting, Matt (fellow board member) asked Claire how her doctorate was going. She launched into an impassioned soapbox about creating upstream mental well-being and a community center in our own backyard. Matt paused, smiled, and said, "You have to meet my friend Heidi."

After experiencing significant losses in her own family in 2025, the mission became even more personal. Claire saw how challenging major life transitions can be, not just for individuals but for entire families. It reinforced something she has long believed through her work in occupational therapy: people need people.

Sometimes support is practical. Sometimes it’s having someone to talk to. And sometimes it’s simply doing something you love alongside someone who enjoys it too.

That’s what Claire hopes 570 Coulee can be—a place where relationships are built side-by-side through joy, purpose, and shared experiences, so when life gets hard, no one has to carry it alone.

We appreciate Claire’s dedication to 570 Coulee and the valuable expertise and perspective she brings to our Board!

We are so excited for what's in store at the - soon to be - former Wi ery property! We have had the privilege of meeting and chatting with Heidi a out her goals, vision, and passion behind this project! She is an absolutely beautiful person inside and out!

Heidi, thank you for what you do!

Over the next several weeks, we’re excited to introduce you to the people behind 570 Coulee.
We’ll start with Heidi Fett, Co-President.
Heidi grew up in a small, close-knit town in northern Minnesota, famously known as the “Turtle Race Capital of the World,” where the summer turtle population sometimes outnumbered the locals. After graduating from UW-Eau Claire, her husband, Chad, convinced her that his hometown of Hudson was the perfect place to build a life together—and he was right.
Although Hudson was much larger than her hometown of 191 people, Heidi says it has always felt warm and welcoming. Here, she and Chad have raised three daughters, built lasting friendships, and enjoyed all that the St. Croix Valley has to offer.
Now, as they enter this new chapter of life as “55+,” Heidi finds herself asking, What’s next?
That question is one of the things that energizes her most about 570 Coulee.
“I believe the years ahead can be some of our most meaningful—not because we have to slow down or step back, but because we want to be more intentional. More intentional about how we spend our time, where we invest our energy, the relationships we nurture, and the difference we can still make.”
For Heidi, 570 Coulee is about recognizing the incredible things we carry into this chapter of life—experience, perspective, stories, and a desire to continue contributing.
She envisions 570 Coulee as a place where people can come together, discover something new, share what they know, build meaningful relationships, and simply feel that they belong.
A place where older adults are valued not just for what they have accomplished, but for what they still have to offer.
People. Connection. Belonging.
That’s the heart behind 570 Coulee—and a big part of why Heidi is so passionate about helping bring it to life.

We are excited to announce changes coming to the Winery property!! It's changing from Cracked Barrel Winery to "570 Coulee". They have a dedicated team with a vision and purpose that is much needed for the community. Together with The Butterfly Path, 570 Coulee will be a place for active adults to find a place to connect, share trades and hands-on skills, and find renewed purpose together.
