Growing up on grandma's homemade strawberry jam, made fresh from the humongous strawberry garden on her farm, I knew that I wanted to have fresh strawberries of my own someday. So when we came across a place for sale in the country that was close to our family and had lots of room to grow, play, and dream, we knew that it was meant to be ours. Exploring the field for the first time imaging what we could do with it was so exciting. We walked to the farthest corner and sat down on the grass and looked out over the land. Where do we start? We know so little about the farming process, but we were eager to learn. We imagined fruits, vegetables, flowers... There could be a walking path... What about pollinators? Having flowers will attract the birds and the bees, they could also attract butterflies and hummingbirds. We envisioned a beautiful, relaxing country garden. Next was figuring out how to turn our dream into reality. It is a work in progress and we are sure that there will be many changes along with challenges, but it brings us happiness and we want to share that happiness with you and your family too.
