Finally getting ready to breed a few does, it’s been a few months and I’m ready to have some litters in the nest again!

Here’s one I can’t wait to get bred!

Just look at that front view!! She may need a little bit of a diet… 😂😬

In case anyone is wondering how my morning is going…
I just moved some rabbits outside last night and almost had a heart attack when a little blue holland lop kit jumped out of the bushes as I was feeding pigs. 🫠🙃😭

I thought I was about to have a free range rabbit but she was ready to give up her freedom and came right to me. I’m sure she was a little discombobulated after the 4ft fall from her top cage, but she seems proud. 😬😂

Congrats to Emma @ Triple E Rabbitry on a fantastic fair week!

In addition to BOSB, Emma also was grand champion senior rabbit showman! It’s safe to say they made quite the duo. Now that Emma’s homebred kit is old enough to show, Cole has joined another family and will be going to another fair soon!

FFR’s Venti
👀🏡

Black Otter SSD
1 year old
Connor’s Mocha (chocolate otter) X Lindberg’s Squish (black)

This is a tough one as venti was my 2nd ever keeper.
She is super small at just under 3lbs. She has a nice blocky head, good width, and a nice short ear, just a little narrow at the base. She would do wonderfully paired with a thick, massy buck.

If she was any other color she would be staying, but I need to cut back somewhere, and I’ve decided my small otter project needs to go.

Amazing mom, she was weaned off her first litter last month. She had 3 and did everything right, I will be keeping her tort daughter to replace her.

Attached are new pics, an old front shot when she was a jr, and 2 of her doe kits.

1 jr leg from her first time out at 12 weeks.
1/16 SJD fall show 2025

Located in Hudsonville MI, I will be going to 1 or 2 of the Lowell shows in September. I’m willing to talk about transport but I have a very busy schedule so I typically don’t work with transporters.

The burnout is real…

Summer is always such a busy season for me, I thought since I’m done with 4-h and don’t have any show stock of my own, this year would be better, but I’ve had some super exciting things happening in my life lately which has added a lot to my plate. Every day over the last month has been spent on survival mode just making sure rabbits stay alive.

My apologies to everyone who was sent a message and waited for a reply! With that being said, I hope to find some time over the next couple weeks to go thru rabbits and do a large herd reduction. I will have several brood does, some bucks who have outproduced themselves and should’ve left a while ago, as well as some young jr’s.

I definitely am not going anywhere as I know once things start slowing down this fall I will get that itch again, but for the time being I just need some things off my plate. I can’t wait to get back to shows this fall, I miss all my holland friends so much!

Pictured is the buck I posted a couple weeks back, I’m so excited for him and think he has some real potential in being my first keeper tort buck! Just look at that brow width!

Love this litter! I figured I’d try breeding pippin to Athena this time around because he works so well on small typey does, and he did it again!

I’m thrilled to finally have some broken kits!

3 bucks and a doe, a solid and broken buck will be looking!

With the heat indexes being over 100 this week, cages are cleaned and the barn is ready to be closed up to let the ac work its magic! I’ll be pulling all my jr’s that are outside into the barn tomorrow so I don’t have to worry about them.

It’s been a busy June! Sorry for the silence here! I hope to go thru my barn at some point this week and make some major cuts, all my cages are full and I even added 8 growout holes outside and those are full too! I have 10 litters to go thru and make some decisions on. If you are looking for anything in particular send me a message and we’ll see if I have a good fit!

I’ve missed seeing all my friends at shows! Showing my hollands is my way of getting an outside perspective on my rabbits since I don’t have many breeders close by to give me their thoughts. Without those opinions I’ve definitely gone barn blind lately which has led to me keeping way more juniors than I should. I’ll have a few pet quality buns, some brood, and a couple that would work well in a breeding program or 4-h!

Most of my juniors are in their uglies, including this buck but he’s still super cute! He may be looking!

The pumpkins have been enjoying all this rain we’ve been getting! Many of them have popped up but it’s been unseasonably cold recently. I wouldn’t mind some warmer weather and rain, but I think that may be too much to ask for!
