Our momma and baby that frequent our pastures. About four girls and up to six bucks come around as well.

As the rains keep coming and the humidity and heat indexes rises here in Southeast Texas, it’s time to get the coop fan going again. This year we got a great deal on a sealed outdoor/shop fan that should do really well in our dusty coop! We got that all set up and running today and some of the girls are already taking advantage of the breeze!

We had a new visitor to the Blessed Nest Homestead… A Summer Tanager. Marcy was able to get a couple of good pics of this little guy from her office window!

Well, what do you do when you have extra eggs? You add spices and egg shells to them and feed them back to your chickens! Chickens need a protein-rich diet and ao this is a good supplement for them from time time!
