Hey, y’all! We are still out here. Still building. Still farming. Still growing!

The freezer is almost full and we have whole shares available.

We also have access to whole chickens, raised on pasture, with non-GMO feed.

We’ve been busy this summer building a farm and a farm house so apologies for the lack of posts! Life 🤷🏻‍♂️

We recently restocked for those who are just looking for retail cuts but we also offer whole and half hogs to fill your freezer for $6-8/ pounds of high-quality, naturally raised and fed pork. If you’re interested in learning more, message us. It’s super easy and a great way to stock up.

We just dropped off two hogs for processing for y’all and one whole share for a client.

They should end up with 100-120 pounds of the best pork they’ve ever had! Hams, chops, bacon, roasts, breakfast sausage, and various links. If you have the room, this of a great way to stay stocked for a few months and get your overall price per pound lower.

We have a few more in that size-range available. Processing dates are about a month out. We will walk through the cut sheet with you to help you select what you want and then we will drop off the hog, submit the order, and let you know when out of ready for pickup.

Picture of bacon seeds for your viewing pleasure!

If you have ever considered getting a half or whole hog share, now is the time to act! Processing dates are tightening up. Our next one is not until May 2. If you are interested in putting 75-150 pounds of pork in the freezer, we can take care of you. We continue to get rave reviews on the quality and flavor of our pork and are extremely humbled by that.

You need about 1 cubic foot in your freezer for every 35-40 pounds of frozen meat. We have small hogs which would yield 60-80 pounds of bacon, links, sausage, chops, and more. 2-3 pounds (uncooked) will provide a family of four one meal, AFTER you cook it ;) If you have pork twice a week, 60 pounds will feed your family for two to three months. Your cost per pound typically falls between $6 and $8 per pound, depending on what you order.

This is absolutely the most cost-effective way to feed your family nutrient-rich, flavorful pork. Split one with a neighbor or two. We will walk you through the cut-sheet and how to order to take away the intimidation factor!

If you have the room and are interested, send us a note. We are here to help you eat better food!

Folks, we need something like this to pass! You can drink all the colas and eat all of the fast food you want, but try to buy raw milk or farm fresh eggs, and in sweep government agents. Honestly, food freedom is right up there with speech. I know it is a bit tedious, but contacting your reps can make a difference in how they perceive an issue. I'm not saying we need to chuck food safety out the window, but the industry "capture" and control of the USDA and state and local health departments means you can literally poison yourself with junk food, leading to obesity, diabetes, and all sorts of other issues but you can't buy raw milk from your local dairy farmer.

Proposed Constitutional Amendment:

“The right of the people to grow food and to purchase food from the source of their choice shall not be infringed, and Congress shall make no law regulating the production and distribution of food products which do not move across state lines.”

Greg Judy is a regenerative rancher in Missouri who we’ve followed for a few years and one of the folks we try to emulate for raising our animals. Here he is discussing one of the problems with the current state/practices of our food system in the US. We have been conditioned to look at calories and not the nutritional elements of our food. When the body doesn’t get the nutrients (including good fat) it requires, it doesn’t trigger the “I’m full” feeling, so we keep eating.

The ingredients in highly processed foods are designed to appeal to our taste buds, not our nutritive needs, keeping us wanting more and more chips, donuts, boxed cereals, etc. Ultimately, most of these foods turn into sugars which drive insulin resistance, which leads to Type-2 diabetes, a very avoidable disease.
