I’ll be the first to admit it. This is my favorite gate on the entire farm. It self closes, it’s one way so the sheep can’t go through, no snaps, no chain to mess with, it’s greased…

Sheep milk is naturally high in protein with 14 grams in every 8oz cup…. Add your favorite protein powder and you could boost your morning protein shake to nearly 40 grams!

Did I mention sheep milk is naturally sweeter? How would you like your vanilla protein shake to taste more like milk shake?! Naturally A2- so it’s easy on the gut. We here at thebaadaboom think you should add sheep milk to your daily routine.

Remember what I said about the Assaf ears! 😂😂😂 No doubt this little cutie has a little Assaf dna! I’m pretty sure her ears are the biggest thing about her. 🫶

The fancy word for the automatic wash system is CIP which stands for Clean In Place, which doesn’t sound super fancy.

The whole system is programmed and calibrated to do different rinses, add just the right amount of chemicals, and get to the right temperature for the right amount of time. The chemical concentrations are titrated regularly to make sure everything is just as it should be.

It’s a super cool set up that I really appreciate having. The milkers can get everything set up, push a button and the whole system gets washed. What’s that noise 30 minutes before milking time? Oh, that’s just my prewash sanitizing rinse starting before anyone arrives to milk.

A clean barn setup makes for fresh, clean milk and happy ewes…. And happy owners too 😉

Do your ears hang low?

We added some Assaf genetics to the flock a few years ago. You know how you can identify the ewes with Assaf genetics? Their ears!

These giant ears are the reason they tolerate the heat better!
