It’s that time of year. We’re tired but we have to keep moving for these lambs. 🙂 Lots of extra straw, heat lamps, lamb coats and TLC helping get these babies through the weather.

A sad night on the farm.
I hesitated to share this — I usually like posting the happy, fun parts of farm life — but I think it’s important to show the hard moments too. Tonight, we found our calf gone. There were almost no signs that anything was wrong. Just like that, a few days after being the first calf born on the farm… he’s now the first calf we’ve lost.

Raising animals is tough. The “maybe we should have…” and “what did we miss?” questions come flooding in. It’s part of the journey, but it sure doesn’t make it any easier. 💔

We had our first calf born on the farm today! We have a few months before lambing starts.

Lambs born from a bred ewe we sold to a young showmen were well represented at the Dane County Fair. We are excited for them, they made it into the Champion Drive with both lambs. Congrats on raising up some nice lambs!
