The last doe kidded today with 1 doe and 2 bucks. With so many bucks born this year, I will take reasonable offers. Most will be ready mid June. The two born today …early July. I also have several doelings available. Please pm for more information.
Significant herd reduction. Adult does,2-4 weeks fresh, doelings, bucklings, dry yearlings, and yearling bucks. Does will not be ready until mid June as they are raising their kids. Please PM only. I will not answer comments.
2nd group of babies disbudded this afternoon. Thank you to my sister and her husband for doing this for me.
I have one doe left to kid next week. We are currently buck heavy with 10 bucklings. We do have 5 doelings. They are all available at weaning 6 to 8 weeks from now.

Queen delivered yesterday. Sam was a handy midwife while I was traveling to MInnesota. Despite getting an ultrasound to see if she was even pregnant, we guessed at just a single. She fooled us and had triplet bucks. They were all very small but the last was about the size of Sam’s hand. The tiny little one didn’t make it. I will get pictures of the two bucklings this afternoon while I am waiting for India to kid. She is due tomorrow but will most likely go sometime today. Next week will be crazy here. 4 goats due in 4 days!
We have started kidding! Violet had triplets…2 bucks and a doe. The black babies are the bucks and the doe is the red. The bucklings will definitely be available. The doe possibly. Have any interest? Please pm me.

Results are back from the annual testing on our herd. We are negative again this year for CAE, CL and Johnnes. It is always a good feeling to have negative tests going into kidding season. Just 42 days until our first doe is due.
Our CAE, CL and Johnnes testing was done this afternoon. I also had doubts about 3 of our girls being pregnant. I have not had ultrasound done on them before. It was pretty exciting! And the 3 that I had doubts about are pregnant. All nine that we bred settled….that means lots of babies starting in about 6 weeks. Let me know if you have any interest in a Ballasalla Farms kid!
Just a quick post to let everyone know that the girls are bred and our first babies are due April 6. It will be a busy month. Our last doe is due May 1. I just returned to doing chores on Jan 2. Sam has been doing them since Dec 10. I had shoulder surgery that kept me from the barn.... I missed the girls and I like to think that they missed me. I will get pictures of growing baby bellies as soon as I get out of this sling!
Our last breeding happened today. Showoff and Tuxedo. Showoff has Tide Landing, M*L Legacy, Woest-hoeve, J&R Spirit and Canoe Creek. She has the best personality! Pm me if you are interested in a kid from this pairing.
Our next pairing is Indy Rose( Rosie) and Tux. Rosie has M *L Legacy, Nubilop Acres, Tide Landing, Woest-Hoeve, J&R Spirit, and Canoe Creek in her pedigree. I am excited about this doe and what she will bring to our herd. I am still waiting on Showoff. I missed her a couple of weeks ago. She will have May kids it looks like. I am also waiting to see if Violet recycles this weekend. If she doesn’t I may breed Jewel to Prince and have my first ever yearling milker. If you have any interest in a reservation pm our page.
Sassy Lady and Showman are the next pair. Sassy has Lancaster’s Edge, Nubilop Acres and Lakeshore in her pedigree. I am excited about this pair. Sassy has given me 3 buckling and a single flashy doeling. See comments for a photo of her girl.
This pairing is Josie and Tux. Josie has Nubilop Acres, Lakeshore and Hoanbu in her background. Sorry for the far away photo. It was taken at the fair last summer where she did very well in a large class of dry yearlings.
Yesterday Showman and Sugar were paired together. Sugar is Fawn’s daughter. Her pedigree is Chalivah, Price O the Field as well as Goat Hollow, Ranchau Acres, Kastdemur, Nubilop Acres and Cream of Kansas. She has been Reserve Champion at our county fair behind her mom as a first freshening two year old.
Another breeding accomplished today. This pairing is Cy’s Showman and Goat Hollow Fawn. Fawn has Acorn Acres, Ranchau Acres, Kastdemur, Nubilop aAcres and Cream of Kansas. Check out previous posts for Showman’s pedigree. Reservations available.
Ballasalla Farms Cy’s Tuxedo and Ballasalla Farms India are paired together for this breeding. India has Chalivah, Price O the Field and Goat Hollow genetics. Tux has Goat Hollow, Nubilop Acres and Lakeshore on his pedigree. Kids will be available.
It is quiet here, no girls in heat today! I sure wish they would come in so breeding will finish up. It is supposed to snow tonight/tomorrow. Breeding in the cold and snow will be no fun!
Showman and Sugar Queen are the second breeding. Queen is Nubilop Acres with J&M Hideaway on both sides of her pedigree. Cy’s Showman is a Ballasalla Farms bred buck with Nubilop Acres and Lakeshore in his pedigree. There will be reservations for this pairing as well. Breeding season will begin soon. My hope is to breed for early March kids. I have 10 does that can be bred. With the unexpected passing of my spouse, I want to keep from being overwhelmed so I am thinking of breeding 5-6 does. That can certainly change as the fall goes on. 2021 kidding season is over for us. We are over run with adorable bucklings! Purebred Nubian. The first group was born March 5-12 and will be available at weaning (around 8-10) weeks. They are disbudded and tattooed, have had their first CDT shot and will come with an ADGA registration application. Most are roan but I have a couple of light brown ones too. They are from great show and milk lines and would be a nice herd sire. I will wether if you prefer a nice pet. Clean tested herd. Please PM for additional information. Located in Humboldt, Iowa
Please pray for my sister who had a devastating barn fire. She lost over half of her 2021 kid crop, her granddaughter's show doe and baby, another doe and and 4 of her bucks and one of mine. She also lost her milking machine and stands, horse tack and all of her feed and hay!

Sad morning here on the farm. Piper (2nd freshener) had triplets this morning but 2 didn't make it. She had 2 does and a buck. Only one doe survived. 😭
Today was a crazy day. Last night I penned up India, who was due 3-10. She had lost her ligaments yesterday but gave no other indications of impending labor this morning. Showoff was also due 3-10 and had squishy ligaments this morning. After chores I went to work...... arriving at nine. At 10 or so Mike texts and says nothing happening. At 11:20 he calls( more than a little excited) to tell me Showoff has triplets on the ground (she wasn't stalled up yet) and India has one on the ground! I raced home to India having a second kid. India had triplets too.... 2 bucks and a doe. Showoff has 2 does and a buck. We are now 5 does kidded with 13 kids on the ground. Everyone has had triplets so far except Sassy with a single. Two more does due this week and then 2 in April. Oh and I was supposed to get my hair cut at noon.... that didn't happen! LOL!
Violet kidded early this evening. She had triplets... 2 bucks and a doe! Pics tomorrow when the light is good.
