Class 83 Student Spotlight: Enchantis
“Come with an open mind and be willing to learn.”
Born and raised in Charlotte, Enchantis has loved being in the kitchen since she was 8 years old. “Ever since I was little, the kitchen has just been peaceful for me,” she said. “No thoughts, no feelings, just peace. It’s always been like that.” Before pursuing a career in the culinary world, Enchantis earned a degree in early childhood education and became a teacher. When the COVID pandemic began, she decided it was time for a change.
“I stopped teaching and decided to become an entrepreneur,” she said. That decision led her to start her own catering business. Today, Enchantis caters events and partners with a mobile massage business. While clients enjoy their massage, she prepares fresh meals for them to enjoy afterward. A few years ago, Enchantis enrolled in a culinary program, but it wasn’t the right fit for her schedule or budget. That’s when she turned to CCSC.
“From the moment Chef Ron gave me a tour, I was hooked,” she said. “Being a student at CCSC has allowed me to enhance what I already know while understanding the science behind it. The chefs are also teaching me how to maximize my time and profit in my business.” After graduation, Enchantis plans to use her new skills and knowledge to take her business to the next level.
