Out mommas were on a clutch of eggs and a clutch was out from under them about a foot or two away. We hurried and fought greenbriers to gather the abandoned eggs. We candled these eggs and compared them to the development of the eggs under mommas. They weren’t duds but they for sure were delayed/dead. In a few short weeks we should have babies!! When spring is here babies are near!!

Well the time has sprung!!! We have two momma turkeys on a single nest. Something we had no idea was a thing. As we researched this we wound two hens will nest together for better security and mothering. While one goes and eats /drinks the other protects and incubates the eggs. When both hens are in the nest they are both protectors and incubators!!!

Well nature is amazing momma has hatched 9 out of 14 eggs and 4 are in process of hatching 🐣. Momma likes to hiss at me but she allowed me to check them all out. My addiction for animals has given me amazing rewards, yes there is frustrations self doubt and sadness but there is greatness also.
