The idea was simple, to provide the community with the finest, most freshest, fruits and vegetables available to them. What begin as a experiment turned out to be a complete success. Initially, the menu only contained three items, soon we found ourselves experimenting with seasonal fruits and vegetables and soon our menu grew to over 12 items. Because we only juice whats in season our menu is alwa

ys changing. Experimentation has been our secret tool, they say the best recipes happened by accident. Through the years, this idea has grown in the heart of local residents. See, we believe that by educating ourselves, and the community we can create a more suitable environment for future generations to Follow. As a result Root of Life currently operates in 3 local Farmers Markets: Downey, Huntington Park, and South Gate.

Shoutout to Edwin from the ROL crew for brightening our shifts with his completely unasked-for karaoke concerts. We didn’t order live music, but somehow we got it! 🎉🎊

Tomorrow, while the shutdown takes place, our doors will remain open 🌱
We’ll be donating 10% of all sales to Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA) to support immigrant families and protect human rights.

We’ve also added SELA community resources in-store to help fund support for street vendors, day laborers, families, and loved ones impacted by detention through local mutual aid.

If you’re able, cash is encouraged so funds go directly to the community without merchant fees. We repeat encouraged, not necessary. 🌱

Feliz Día de los Mu***os 🧡
Hoy honramos a quienes viven en nuestros recuerdos y corazones. This year has been specially heavy, we lost our younger brother and it’s been a journey of healing and what “if’s”. Loss always takes a toll, but I want to remind you that love never leaves. The people we miss most always show up in the smallest ways.

I just want to thank you for allowing this girl to occupy so much space. 💛 This event brought in such an overwhelming amount of DMs that it made me reflect on how I can continue to show up for my community.
