Peoney bouquet cut from my garden this morning. My peonies are divisions of plants that were decades old, originally planted by my husband's sweet grandmother. I met her in my late 20's and loved her as my own. In the spring, when her peonies bloomed she would make me bouquets, a wet paper towel wrapped around the stems. Those bouquets meant so much more to me than just the flowers themselves. She was sending a handful of her sweet love home with me and I received it with such gratitude. Now each spring I cut a myself a bouquet from the current generation of those same plants and I thank our sweet Jessie Coward for her generous gift of love. 🤍🩷
