Hey Y’all! As you know we have a little disturbance down at The Gulf. Most folks are worried about this Saturday’s football game!

But!!! Did you know this disturbance has affected sooo many small businesses? Not only the business in the wake of this storm, but small businesses that were there for this weekend’s Shrimp Fest.

These small businesses put lots of hard earned money into this weekend!! They bought product, put hours into making product, packed up and drove there (with these gas prices) hauling trailers. Yikes! They had hotel rooms, condos, or Airbnbs and other costs associated with this loss. Money that’s gone and they may not see again.

This is a four day event that these businesses rely on revenue to be able to sustain and get through the holidays and help them through the slow months after the holidays.

This could be very detrimental to a small business!!

What can we do? Several things! If you know a small business that was to be there, support them!! If you are in the Huntsville area, The BoxTruck Boutique is hosting a Shrimp Happens event in Boaz on Saturday. Our good friend Grace Girl Beads will be there. So stop in or go online and support these businesses. Other businesses that you can support are FischTale and Blue Girl Studio.

These all can help with your holiday shopping.

Please consider supporting small today, tomorrow and every day!

I was honored to host and share Southern Kitchen and Home with some very impressive students. Thank you to Bailey with Wafel-Bitte for the introduction.

When I was in high school, there were not programs that opened doors and highlighted opportunities to show the different paths students can take. Madison CEO program does just that and more. Taking the time to show and teach this next generation different paths forward is what will make them successful.

Thank you Madison CEO for this wonderful opportunity and setting up a great organization!

We are incredibly honored to be a contender for the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber's 2026 Small Business Awards!

When we started this journey supporting small businesses we crossed our fingers, said a prayer and opened the doors. Our dream was to bring small businesses to our community. To support local makers, bakers and farmers and to bring them into your household.

We believe that life happens around the dining room table, in the kitchen, around the kitchen bar or outside on the porch. Those are where the connections happen and what brings us together. To support each other and come together as a community is what our team strives to create and for you to take home.

Thank you to everyone who has shared our store, shopped from our small business(es) and who has cheered us on from afar. We are truly honored!

When I opened these doors almost two years ago, I wanted to create more than a store. I had a vision for a place where the folks making good things from across the south had a space that celebrated and showcased them.

Walk in and you’ll find small-batch goods from local makers and bakers alongside specialty food, kitchen, and home goods from brands across the South.

In our kitchen, we work alongside cottage food businesses as they grow into commercial brands, giving them a place to launch and a customer base to grow with. You can taste and shop their products in our specialty food section.

And it doesn’t stop at the shelves. Classes, events, and gatherings happen here too, because good food and good company belong together.

When you shop here, you’re never supporting just one small business. Every pan, jar of jam, and loaf of bread represents a maker, a family, and a local business. One purchase with us supports dozens more.

Come see us and say hi. We can’t wait to welcome you in!
