The Farm Market Is Reopening This Weekend

Saturday, October 17 | 10 AM – 2 PM & for this weekend we will also be open on Sunday, October 18 | 10 AM – 2 PM

We're stocked with pasture-raised beef, pork, lamb, fresh eggs, Saturday sourdough bread, and our freshly bottled 2026 honey harvest.

We've added Sunday hours this weekend to give everyone a little more flexibility and an extra opportunity to restock after our temporary closure.

Our new freezer delivery has been delayed, but we're moving ahead with our existing freezers stocked with our most popular cuts.

Wednesday Evening Hours Return Next Week, October 21, 4-6 pm

Yesterday’s Paint on the Farm with Joe Willey was such a relaxing day! We had perfect weather, and it was a pleasure to welcome guests to the farm.

Joe found inspiration in our Mulefoot pigs, capturing a sweet momma Mulefoot and another showing off its cute little backside and curly tail!

Black widows love dark, sheltered spots like woodpiles and under water troughs. Common siting here on the farm, but six in one place is a first for me.

I went out to the pasture this morning to set up a new paddock for the cows. I keep the water trough in that area upside down when not in use so it doesn’t collect leaves, and whatever else blows in.

Six very large, shiny black widows had decided it made a fine home. A few of them were as big as a dime.

I’m all for biodiversity on the farm, but I’d prefer the black widows find another place to live.

Just 4 openings left for Painting on the Farm! Saturday, October 10th, starting at 10 am.

Come spend a fall morning at Pop’s Old Place learning a little about watercolor and visual journaling with Eastern Shore artist, illustrator, and author Joe Willey. Joe Willey Creative

Joe will share some simple watercolor techniques, then everyone will head out around the farm and choose a spot or subject they’d like to paint. There should be plenty to choose from between the fall landscape, chickens, sheep, cattle and everything else happening around the farm.

You don’t need to be an experienced painter. This is meant to be a relaxed, enjoyable morning and a chance to try something a little different.

We have 4 spots left.

We’re over-seeding some of our pastures with a diverse perennial mix and trying out a custom cool-season cover crop mix in a couple of paddocks for grazing.

We are hoping the cover crops, along with the animals grazing, trampling some plants, and leaving manure behind, will help improve the health of our soil.

Well, this certainly isn't how we had hoped to kick off our fall season!
One of our market freezers failed, and the replacement isn't expected to arrive until October 14. Assuming delivery goes as planned, we're now planning to reopen Saturday, October 17!

Thankfully, I heard our old freezer cycling on and off before it stopped holding temperature. We were able to move all our meat to the walk-in freezer before it failed, and not a single product was compromised.

Meanwhile, life on the farm goes on! There's no shortage of work around here! We're planting pastures, cleaning chicken coops, bottling honey, putting away hay, and tending to five healthy new calves, with two more expected soon.

Thank you for your patience and for hanging in there with us!

I’m sorry for the last-minute notice, but our farm market will be closed tomorrow, Saturday, September 26.

I noticed one of our freezers cycling on and off, so I unloaded it and checked that the coils were clear. When I returned to reload it, the freezer was no longer holding temperature. Thankfully, I caught the problem in time and no product was compromised. Without a working freezer to display our beef, though, I can’t open the market as planned.

I’m hoping to pick up a replacement freezer this week and reopen on Wednesday, September 30. I’ll confirm that as soon as I can.

Thank you for your understanding, and I’m sorry for the inconvenience.
