Growing & foraging vegetables, fruit, flowers and pork for the finests restaurants & markets in the Gulf Coast and local produce club members.

Covey Rise Farms is located near Husser, Louisiana in central Tangipahoa Parish and is part of the Covey Rise Sportsman’s Retreat. The Farm started growing vegetables on 10 acres in 2009 and has expanded to 50 acres for the 2013 season. Our vegetables are enjoyed at over 40 of the New Orleans area finest restaurants and by our Local Produce Club/CSA members. We grow multiple varieties of over 30 t

ypes of vegetables throughout our growing season which is year round. Our Local Produce Club/CSA runs in the spring and fall during heart of the growing season and includes both cool and warm weather crops. We grow conventionally under the direction of a retired LSU Agriculture Professor, who acts as our crop consultant. In 2012 we started nearby Chappapeela Farms which is the “coolest little duck farm in the south, raising the prettiest hogs around.”

l hope everyone had a great Christmas and wishing everyone a Happy New Year!
The cold really did a number on us, the lowest temp I saw was 18 degrees. While we covered everything we could, 20 degrees doesn't sit well with most of the plants we are growing at this time. The plants that died off just need to be cleaned up so they can start producing again. It’s hard to swallow after all the hard work that went into growing these crops, but that is farming. We will try our best to bounce back. Our regular CSA season will start back on January 2nd so start the new year off right with fresh, local produce delivered to your door each week!
