Getting excited about our winter triticale! (a wheat and rye hybrid) It is about as tall as me (Kendra, 5'6") and just about up to Dad's shoulders! This is incredible, considering that last year we tried and it didn't work out; we had to completely start over with a new crop.
We planted the triticale on ground that is known for high w**d pressure. This year, we have experienced a significant decrease, nearly 85-90%!! Not only has it benefited the w**d pressure, but it has also benefited the soil's health and structure. Triticale is known to soak up excess nutrients, reduce compaction, reduce soil erosion (like soil loss), and many other things. What a cool thing to grow and witness!
