We’ve been waiting to share this… and it’s finally time!
After much time and outreach, we have found the next farmers to take over our farm: Carly and Ethan Zierke of Sweet Season Farm.
Carly and Ethan have farmed certified organic vegetables near Decorah, Iowa for the past five years on rented land. They’re excited to take over from where we left off and make the farm their own, growing produce for you starting in 2027.
We are THRILLED that they can continue to steward this land organically and grow local food and community here.
There is so much alignment in how they run their farm and business and what we did at Loon Organics, including really beautiful, clean, high-quality organic produce.
👉 If you want to follow along and get to know them, take a second to go follow Sweet Season Farm. They’ll be sharing farm updates (and all their usual cooking inspiration) as they step into this next chapter.

What’s next for us?
This farm is a gorgeous, wild, productive place. We will always feel deeply connected to this land and to all of you. Farming isn’t always easy, but it certainly was rewarding and a privilege. Your support as customers allowed us to farm here and raise a family here for the past 18 years. THANK YOU!!
As for us, our family will be moving to Chanhassen, not far from one of our CSA drop sites (that I hear may be continuing in 2027!). It’s a full circle moment.
Both Adam and I are working in farm education and advocacy—Laura is with the non-profit Renewing the Countryside and Adam is working for The Food Group. It’s been really meaningful to use our farming skills and talents in service of beginning and emerging farmers. The kids are heading into high school and 5th grade and are excited for a new adventure.
We can’t wait to get a CSA box from Sweet Season Farm in 2027, and hope you all join us in continuing to eat local and support local farmers.
