This makes me so proud.
Our pastures have had a hard year. We had almost no spring rain, and the lack of moisture has meant a lot more w**d pressure than usual. Pasture management has taken a lot of extra work this year.
And this year, Luke is really contributing.
This old sickle mower is old school, but itās Lukeās favorite mower to use. He genuinely enjoys getting on the tractor and mowing for an hour or two at a time. And that hour or two is SO valuable to our farm. Itās real work that needs to be doneāand work Daniel doesnāt have to fit into an already-full day.
There are plenty of hard days in farming. But watching our kids grow into the farmālearning real skills, taking responsibility, and realizing that their work mattersāis one of the things that makes the hard days worth it.
I love seeing our kids want to contribute to what our family is building.
Iām pretty proud of this farm kid.
