This udder on Mini Land Ranch G Zamia 6*M continues to blossom day by day, week by week and month by month. This is a 12 hour fill holding almost a half gallon of milk after machine milking. She’s always had a nice udder with good production, but her Sugar Moon genetics are shining through.

She is currently on milk test and is consistently averaging over 2.5 lbs of milk per day, which is an impressive start to her first lactation. Her dam, Swoon HB Reese’s Delight 1*M, is a proven producer who peaked at over 6 lbs of milk and currently ranks in the 94th percentile for milk production—placing her in the top 6%.

Another milk test this past weekend ( #6) and samples are headed to the lab. I won’t have numbers for butterfat and protein until later this week, but I can report how much each doe milked over the 24 hour period.

If you need milk, or are running low on your supply, now is the time to stock up! We will be drying off in December this year, so a couple more months of milking, and will be keeping some back for our own use with our dogs and cats (and the occasional possum) and soaps. When it’s gone it’s gone, until next year!
