Jaxson Jon
He was our OG. He was the first goat we got and the one that inspired our love of the animal. He was more like a dog than goat. He was always up for snuggles and beer, sharing an IPA with Peter after work lol! We learned a lot about goats through Jax. He had polio which caused seizures. He was stuck under the hay feeder and was completely paralyzed. Vet suggested euthanasia then but we said “Nope!” This began 3 months or rehabbing a goat with no idea what we were doing. He made COVID bearable. He watched Maddy play basketball with me on the ohine when we werenr allowed in the gyms He made it through and was able to walk, though his back end was never the same. He was always happy and really enjoyed life, especially soaking up the sun. The last pictures were from his last day and you can see how tired his eyes look. He was so ready, and stopped breathing one time when the sedation was given. It did not take much of the second medication to ease his transition. He went out where he was most comfortable: in my lap with us petting him and telling him thank you for those extra years. Yes he is a farm animal but oh he was so so much more than that to us. He gave us a purpose and a new look on life.
Thanks Jax for everything. ❤️
