“Just because something is really hard doesn’t mean it’s not worth doing.”

A few years ago, June Rebecca asked her dad why we didn’t make traditional method sparkling wine in Texas.
As Chris explained how difficult it is, their youngest daughter, Tess Caroline, replied, “Just because something is really hard doesn’t mean it’s not worth doing.”

That moment stayed with him.

Rebecca Caroline was born from a dream that had been sitting quietly in the background since 2013, when some of the first traditional method sparkling wines were produced at William Chris. The vision was always there. It just needed time, patience, and the right people.

Named after June Rebecca and Tess Caroline, this project is about family, preservation, and building something meaningful together.

And now here we are… standing in front of the old Hye Post Office, somehow making it all real. 🍾✉️

🤝 This week we had the great honor of welcoming Mexican winery members and delegates from Saltillo and the state of Coahuila, Mexico to William Chris Vineyards through the Austin-Saltillo Sister Cities Association.

We spent the day sharing conversations around viticulture, wine tourism, hospitality, and what it takes to build strong regional wine industries. We’re grateful for opportunities like these to connect, learn from one another, and share a little Texas hospitality with our friends south of the border.

Spring showed up, and y’all showed out.

Across William Chris Vineyards, Wine for the People, and Uplift Vineyard, the past couple months have been full of packed tables, poured glasses, long dinners, and a whole lot of Texas wine shared the way it ought to be.

Release parties, late-night toasts, and plenty of reasons to gather. Not because of us, but because of the people who keep showing up for Texas.
