Come see us at this Good As Gold Market Goat Sale Saturday from 1-5 PM in Jerome. We will have two boer wethers and one boer doeling in the sale!

We are just 3 days away from the Good as Gold Market Goat Sale! 🐐✨

Here are a few important details for everyone planning to attend:

The address to the Jerome County Fairgrounds is 205 N Fir St.
All goats will be set up in the pig barn, located on the west side of the fairgrounds. When arriving, please use N Ironwood St (look for the gold balloons!) the main fairgrounds entrance will be blocked due to another event.

The sale will officially open for purchasing at 1:00 PM. Remember, this is a first come, first serve sale, so if you’ve got your eye on one from the catalog, make sure you’re there right at 1!

If you are participating at a county fair remember to bring your counties bill of sale to get signed by the producer you purchase from!

We can’t wait to see everyone there!

And just like that we’re already half way done with the January Boers in 4 quick days. So far 10 does have kidded with 5 sets of triplets, 4 sets of twins and 1 single. Things were going pretty slow and steady starting out Monday with a set of twin bucks and then another set of twins on Tuesday for DeeDee and triplets for KJ. Then Wednesday Butternut had a set of triplets where only one made it so we grafted one of the triplets from Tuesday onto her and she took it no problem! Next up on Wednesday was Penelope who had a beautiful set of buck/doe twins with a little assistance. And then we had a little break Thursday morning to go check on the cows and then from 4-10PM Thursday we had 4 does kid. First was a single doeling, next a set of twins for AJ, followed by a set of triplets where the doe had ring womb because the first kid was breech. Unfortunately we lost the first kid after trying for almost an hour to clear his lungs and get him to breathe fully. But luckily the other two still survived. After that set of triplets we checked the last doe that was in active labor and she also needed help getting hers sorted out in the birth canal. But luckily they all made it and are doing great after a lot of blow drying and warming up last night. And then this morning Loretta Lynn also had a set of nice triplets after having checked her all nightlong and sorting them out as the first one just had one leg coming out with its head down and turned. Here’s to hoping for some sunshine and getting some of these kids out of the barn this morning to make room for the next round!

Who needs eggs? Our girls are working overtime and we have an abundance! I will be at the Costco Parking lot Saturday morning from 9:30-10 am. $5/dozen, FCFS!

American Nubian buck kids looking for new bottle holders. 11 and 8 days old, each spent a week with their dams and are ready for their forever home. Both dams are nursing kids and giving just under a gallon a day. Doing well on a bottle, being fed 6 times a day. Message for more info.

First kids of 2026 are here! A nice set of triplets out of Boo Berry to start us off, two girls and one boy. Now just impatiently waiting for the rest of the dairy girls to go before the Boers start in 2 weeks!

Merry Christmas from our farm to you! Not so long ago Christmas Day came with inches of snow so we’ll try not to complain too much about the blue skies and green fields… even though it is weird!! ❤️

This week’s Wednesday post goes to the boys. If their 4-h year had one word to describe it this years would be challenges! Between goats getting sick, not gaining and not really behaving for them they still stuck it out. They decides this year they also wanted to take both breeding and market which meant more work and more goats to train. But even at the end of the day they said they want to do it again next year and have ideas on how to improve from what the judge told them. And that’s probably the biggest win of them all! Thanks to their amazing leaders for their encouragement and support. Highlights from the show were Doug’s spare goat getting first place in the feeder class and Hunters spare getting 2nd in his weight class and going back for the final drive. And all 4 of their market goats got ribbons for being Born and Bred by the exhibitors.
