Come meet George at the Cody Horse Sale in Cody, Wyoming on May 8-9th!!!
George is a striking black-and-white paint gelding, born 04/02/2023, standing 15.3 hands and still maturing. He is by a Gypsy stallion and out of a Shire/Thoroughbred mare, offering an ideal blend of substance, movement, and a steady, willing mind.
George was born on my place, and I was there when he took his first breath. He has not been passed around or flipped — every step of his handling, training, and exposure has been done carefully and correctly with long-term soundness and reliability in mind. I know his history, his habits, and his temperament completely.
He is exceptionally well broke and dependable for a young horse. George ties, loads, bathes, stands quietly for the farrier, hobbles easily, and saddles like a broke horse. He will pick you up from a mounting block and goes right to work with a calm, honest attitude. He rides out alone or in a group, and crosses water willingly. He has been ridden in the mountains and on cattle, where he stays thoughtful and steady even when he is presented with new situations. He is soft in the bridle, has a solid neck rein, and moves willingly off leg with balance and feel. George also makes a pretty cute packhorse! I’ve packed meat on him and it didn’t bother him one bit.
What truly sets George apart is his mind. He is kind, intuitive, and trustworthy — the kind of horse that looks after you and makes every ride enjoyable rather than stressful.
