We officially got EVERYTHING planted in our garden last weekend!! All that is left to go is planting my center row that will be a pollinator/apothecary row. I’m VERY excited for that one 😍

Final project of the day is inside! We are trying to scope the walls in the upstairs to try and find a way down to the basement that we can run fiber from the house to the barn and get rid of the point to point WiFi out there (and get the it out of Ezra’s room since it’s the only window facing the barn😂).

The last project we worked on outside was grading a part of our yard. This spot had a huge pile of dirt, rocks, weeds, and a small tree that we pulled and did a rough smoothing out about a month ago. Today, we we t through and properly graded everything out so that it’s nice and smooth, no more hill or crazy holes! Clearly the chickens were loving the fresh bugs from the dirt😆

Worked on clearing out a bunch of hay from the barn loft. We will be getting a lot of work done to the barn this summer (I’m very excited!!) because it’s desperately in need of love. Likely if not done before snowfall, we will lose her. This hay was left here for who knows how long before we moved in. It’s been rotting/composting up there and, in turn, rotting the floor away. We will use the nicer hay for garden mulch and for when we lay grass seed in a few places, the rest is compost. Noah told me this was a nap time project in case he fell through the floor 🫠😅

We were able to get the garden all plowed up for me to start planting this week!! Just have to get our trellises in which we can do after I’ve planted. Ezra had a blast helping us with all the tractor work we did today, he wants to be just like his dada🥹🥰

Got my herbs and lettuces all planted in one of my Greenstalks today! Have a couple open spots for oregano that I need to go get still. All the ones that look empty have lettuce seeds or dill seeds 🥰
I need Noah’s help getting that last tier up top😂

We have been very busy over here 👀

I’ve been getting better at my sourdough (and have been obsessed to say the least😬🤣) keep your eyes peeled for some goodies for sale hopefully in the near future!

We got our new chicks for the year a few weeks ago and they’re thriving!

This year did not go well with my plant starts (and that’s okay, some seasons in life are a little more crazy than others), but thankfully my parents over at Solitude Acres helped us out so we can still have a beautiful garden to help feed our family for the year.

Ezra has been having so much fun in the nicer weather! He loves to help out when we make feed runs and he wants to spend every waking moment outside! Whether it’s splashing in mud puddles, chasing his chickens, or climbing the tractor and implements…he loves everything about outside.

I’m 33 weeks pregnant and can’t believe how fast this pregnancy has flown by. We can’t wait to meet this sweet boy in less than 2 months!!
