Hi, everyone! Long time, no chat! This is going to be a long one, so please hang in there! I promise itโ€™s important, if a bit long winded. ๐Ÿ˜‰ We have spent this summer deliberating on a predicament, so please excuse our little social media absence. In April of this year, farms and orchards across New Jersey experienced devastating crop loss. The early heat wave caused all the blossoms on our apple trees to open and the subsequent freeze killed majority of them.

What does that mean for apple picking this year at Stone Tavern Orchards? It means we will have a very LIMITED amount of pick-your-own apples. Some trees will not have any apples, but if you look a little closer and visit all parts of the orchards, there are still apples to be found!

We have decided to make the best of what we do have and rather than picking the few apples that remain on the trees for cider or to sell under the tent, we want our customers to be able to pick what is available. We know that apple picking is a beloved fall tradition for many people and we want our customers to still be able to experience that joy this year.

We ask our customers, during this time, to be please be understanding of the small amount of apples that are available. Our supply will likely run out pretty quick. Some trees in a row might have apples and some might not. Also, different varieties of apples ripen at different times during the season, so there might be periods where the early apples are all gone, but the remaining late season apples arenโ€™t ready yet. We will keep you updated with supply information and what is available to be picked.

That being said, we are extremely lucky to have an AMAZING crop of pick-your-own pumpkins and flowers this year, despite the light apple crop. And do not fear! We will also still have all of our fun fall activities, from the hayride to the corn maze to the corn pit! Fall will still be awesome. Thank you for reading and we canโ€™t wait for the season to start!

Also, I know this post is already very long but I would be remiss not to say it. RIP Dolly๐Ÿฉท๐Ÿฆ‹ Thank you for being a symbol of love, giving, togetherness, and acceptance to us all.
