Sorry we have been MIA lately. Quick update on things. On August 1st we had to evacuate due to the Modrite Fire. It was obvious that the fire was gaining speed quickly and we made the decision to move the animals about 12 hours before we got the notice to evacuate. It was late, dark and the animals did not load easily. We are eternally grateful for our friends, the Acorns, Cassie Timmons,Elizabeth Powell, & Doug for not hesitating to come out the moment we asked for help. Tristin Bannerman & the Montoya family graciously housed us and the sheep for 10 days while we waited for the fire to get under control. We had numerous people reaching out offering to buy hay, send money, and help in any way that they could. We can’t even begin to describe how appreciative we are for all the support, and love from our friends, family, and the community. This was a feat we couldn’t have accomplished on our own. Fire crews were able to stop the fire right when it hit the town of Inchelium. If the fire had gone through town, there probably would have been nothing to come home too. Several members of our community have lost their homes, properties & animals. Our hearts ache for those who were not as fortunate as us. The sigh of relief was heavy when we finally brought the last of the animals home. Our house, fences, and shelters all untouched. Thank you all so much ❤️
